Our client, a global leader in providing innovative cloud-based solutions, is seeking an experienced and visionary Principal Solutions Architect to join their elite, fully remote technical team. - Lead the architectural design and technical strategy for complex cloud-based solutions, encompassing IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models.
- Develop high-level and detailed technical designs, including infrastructure, network topology, security frameworks, and disaster recovery plans.
- Collaborate closely with clients, product management, and engineering teams to understand business requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
- Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) based on project needs and client constraints.
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to engineering teams on cloud best practices, security standards, and operational excellence.
- Create and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation, including diagrams, specifications, and best practice guides.
- Conduct technical feasibility studies, proof-of-concepts, and performance benchmarks for new technologies and approaches.
- Stay at the forefront of cloud computing trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices, proactively identifying opportunities for innovation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex architectural and performance issues, offering remote support to client engagements.
- Present architectural designs and technical strategies to both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Ensure solutions adhere to security, compliance, and governance requirements.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, solutions architecture, or cloud engineering, with at least 5 years focused specifically on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale, high-availability, and mission-critical cloud solutions.
- Deep understanding of cloud networking concepts (VPCs, VNETs, peering, routing, load balancing, firewalls).
- Expertise in cloud security principles, identity and access management (IAM), and compliance frameworks.
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Cloud architecture certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
