Responsibilities:
• Produce timely and accurate management information in accordance with internal deadlines and in compliance with the Group accounting policies.
• Prepare necessary journals to account for revenues and costs (including accruals and prepayments), ensuring all entries are accurately processed through the GL so that Management Accounts are produced and issued in accordance with internal guidelines in appropriate formats.
• Provide insightful analysis and commentary of revenues and costs to Stakeholders, ensuring the accuracy and legitimacy of the accounts.
• Produce monthly Management Accounts for specific entities, ensuring all queries are resolved.
• Establish strong working relationships with Directors and Senior Managers across the business, providing information and support to them as needed.
• Manage project management accounting processes to ensure time sheets are accurately recorded in a timely manner.
• Reconcile and ensure tight control of Balance Sheets for specific entities, including close management of WIP provisions to ensure appropriate cover maintained.
• Manage time and planning around additional and cyclical work load.
• Identify and implement process improvements to drive greater efficiency, improve accuracy in the production of the management accounts, to meet the growing needs of the business, as agreed with management.

The Role
To support the Finance Manager in maintenance and development of accounting procedures and controls for PFM, PRS and MCPS around the balance sheet, tax, intercompany, statutory accounts and audit. Working collaboratively with other members of the Management Accounts team, ensure that allocated ledgers are accurately maintained, reconciled and reported on a timely basis. Optimise use of finance systems and development of processes to deliver continuous improvement.
As a key part of the wider PRS Finance function, the Management Accounts team sits at the heart of PRS, working collabaratively with colleagues across the business. By assuring integrity of the financial records, we play a key part in allowing PRS to distribute royalties to our members on an accurate & timely basis.
Responsibilities
As our Management Accountant, some of your day to day duties will include…
- Work around month end, assuring journals are posted accurately, balance sheet reconciliations are completed promptly with variances being investigated & followed up on, and working with stakeholders both internally & externally to provide accurate reporting
- Assist with monthly & quarterly VAT returns
- Ensure processes & procedures are up to date and as efficient as possible - where appropriate, provide recommendations for improvements & drive those through to completion
- Assist with both internal & external audit where required, including contributing to preparations of schedules & working papers
