Aviation Asset Management (AAM) sits within the Global Aviation Finance Office (GAFO), and is part of Global Corporate and Investment Banking Division for EMEA (GCIB).

**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**
This is a unique opportunity to join a growing Aviation Asset Management team, working with GAFO clients and AAM suppliers.
The main purpose of the role is:
+ To operate as a member of the Aviation Asset Management team, assisting in the delivery of a variety of world class subject matter expert services to the GAFO platform, over the lifecycle of the loan term for a broad variety of commercial aircraft transactions.
+ To differentiate MUFG from our competitors through our asset management knowledge and expertise
+ To create and complete maintenance fly forward models for aircraft and engine deals
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Act as first point of contact for AAM queries (internal and external)
+ Create and update an open items lists for each region, projects and tasks
+ In conjunction with the Head of Aviation Asset Management and wider team, create and maintain internal processes, procedures and industry best practices for AAM
+ Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within MUFG - both regionally and globally
+ Support AAM in the provision of services across the GAFO platform related to new business, existing business, work-out cases and expiring loans (i.e. the lifecycle of the loan)
+ Represent Aviation Asset Management at both internal and external meetings / conferences creating and delivering presentations as required
+ In conjunction with the Head of Aviation Asset Management, maintain a close relationship with customers, manufacturers, service providers and suppliers
+ Learn all aspects of Aviation Asset Management from a Bank's perspective.
+ Competently and capably assimilate large amounts of technical data necessary for the creation of Fly Forward Models

**WORK EXPERIENCE**
Essential:
+ Experience in a relevant aviation, transportation or banking working environment, preferably as part of a team
+ Demonstrated experience of creating and working with aviation / transportation models
+ Experience and or knowledge of reading and interpreting Lease Agreements
+ Planning capabilities and business awareness across a bank and/or aviation platform

We are currently looking to talk to those involved within the commercial real estate lending / loan space, to discuss a role within a real estate debt fund based in Central London.

We would like to speak with people who have managed a portfolio of CRE loans, either as a secondee/servicer for a lender or directly working for a lender, as that is the skillset we need.

The role will involve managing a portfolio of commercial real estate loans from drawdown through to redemption.

Responsibilities:

• Managing a portfolio of syndicated and bilateral UK and European commercial real estate investment and development loans.
• Creating financial models, diarising conditions subsequent, construction milestones and any other significant events, including the provision of borrower reporting, in-line with the relevant finance documents.
• Liaising with borrowers and their representatives in relation to ensuring reporting and other information required under the relevant finance documents are provided in a timely manner.
• Coordinating with lenders, borrowers and their respective lawyers in respect to loan redemptions, restructuring, amendments, waivers and other adhoc requests.
• Processing transfers, setting up waterfalls and reviewing back-office calculations.
• Liaising with project monitors, borrowers and lenders with regard to drawdowns and calculating lender splits, if required.

This team is responsible for all of Hiltonu2019s real estate and asset management activities outside the Americas. This includes portfolio management activities for about 50 leased and joint-venture interests in hotels in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. The group's mandate is to enhance the long-term value of the existing portfolio through strategic capital investments, opportunistic contract restructurings, and improvement of bottom-line performance.

**The Opportunity**

This internship offers you the opportunity to learn about hotel operational asset management, which should not be confused with financial asset management related to private equity or investment banking. As the EMEA Real Estate & Asset Management intern, you will be an integral part of the team and will play an active role in our continued success. You will focus on supporting the process of evaluating long-term asset enhancement opportunities of existing hotels in our portfolio. That includes review of capital investment programs, preparation of supporting schedules and Excel spreadsheets to evaluate/analyse annual capital spend and identifying/evaluating return on investment opportunities.

**Some of the more specific responsibilities you will be taking on are detailed as follows:**
Support the team in the annual capital expenditure process: Consolidate and analyse submitted capital expenditure requests by hotels. Evaluate best deployment of capital into the respective properties. As necessary perform financial analysis to identify highest return on capital invested. Support annual capital expenditure budget presentation: Consolidate and summarise annual budget to be reviewed by Senior Vice President of Real Estate & Asset Management. Present data in a concise and intuitive way. Provide analytical and evaluative support for strategic assessment of hotel performance. Work closely with VP Asset Management to identify suitable strategies to enhance value of each property. Analyse return on investment projects based on NPV and IRR analysis. This team is responsible for all of Hiltonu2019s real estate and asset management activities outside the Americas. This includes portfolio management activities for about 50 leased and joint-venture interests in hotels in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. The group's mandate is to enhance the long-term value of the existing portfolio through strategic capital investments, opportunistic contract restructurings, and improvement of bottom-line performance.

**The Opportunity**

This internship offers you the opportunity to learn about hotel operational asset management, which should not be confused with financial asset management related to private equity or investment banking. As the EMEA Real Estate & Asset Management intern, you will be an integral part of the team and will play an active role in our continued success. You will focus on supporting the process of evaluating long-term asset enhancement opportunities of existing hotels in our portfolio. That includes review of capital investment programs, preparation of supporting schedules and Excel spreadsheets to evaluate/analyse annual capital spend and identifying/evaluating return on investment opportunities.

**Some of the more specific responsibilities you will be taking on are detailed as follows:**
Support the team in the annual capital expenditure process: Consolidate and analyse submitted capital expenditure requests by hotels. Evaluate best deployment of capital into the respective properties. As necessary perform financial analysis to identify highest return on capital invested. Support annual capital expenditure budget presentation: Consolidate and summarize annual budget to be reviewed by Senior Vice President of Real Estate & Asset Management. Present data in a concise and intuitive way. Provide analytical and evaluative support for strategic assessment of hotel performance. Work closely with VP Asset Management to identify suitable strategies to enhance value of each property. Analyse return on investment projects based on NPV and IRR analysis. Individual is expected to be able to underwrite return on investment projects autonomously and to prepare investment memos for the CFO at the end of the placement. As necessary, assist team members in negotiating or restructuring hotel leases with landlords. (A significant portion of the portfolio is operated under longu2013term leases many of which are expiring or up for rent renegotiation).
