About the Supply Chain Manager role

You’ll come into the Supply Chain Manager role managing spend more than £25m, you and your team will manage different category areas and varying customer requests. You’ll work closely with Warehouse, Logistics and Inventory to ensure warehousing space is available, that inventory is accurate and that we continue to be an agile and efficient partner for our customers.  Service levels are fundamental to ensure we deliver on our customer commitments.

What we're looking for in our Supply Chain Manager

  • Proven track record leading supply chain or purchasing teams at scale.
  • Experience managing significant spend (£5m+) with multiple suppliers. Candidates managing 00m upwards will be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of modern planning methodologies (e.g. Demand Driven, S&OP, advanced MRP).
  • Hands-on experience with supply chain planning software preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Experience within similar industry preferred (e.g. MRO, OEM, Manufacturing or Engineering)

About you

The successful Supply Chain Coordinator will have previous experience of working within a Supply Chain or distribution environment and ideally will have had exposure to forecasting/modelling with Excel.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain, influence and develop relationships is a key requirement for this role.

·     Liaise both internally and externally to manage stock levels ensuring materials and product testing for stock is available on time

· Track shipments and address any delays, working with factories to manage the packaging and approval process of the goods

· Managing the container fill and the shipment of goods from India and China

· Coordinate regular inventory audits

· Liaise with warehouse staff and other internal teams to test products’ quality (status upon delivery and storage conditions)

· Keep updated stock records and identify any areas where stock may be different on the systems to the stock available

· Ensure purchases do not exceed budget

· Updating and managing critical path

Essential skills / experience include:

  • A hands on, flexible and adaptable approach with a positive attitude
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels and functions, both internally and with suppliers
  • An ability to adapt and respond to change with a strong attention to detail

A good understanding of supply chain responsibilities including critical path management would be highly advantageous, but training will be given. You will definitely need excellent EXCEL skills.

Berry Recruitment are working in partnership within an elite client known for their significant success and respected reputation based in Abingdon for a Supply Chain Administrator.

To provide a full support in the administration of various databases relating to product information, purchase orders, shipment tracking and stock adjustments.

Role: Supply Chain Administrator

Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire

Hours: 09:00 - 17:30 - Monday - Friday

Supply Chain Administrator Responsibilities

  • Using Sage 200 for purchase order and shipment data entry
  • Accurate and timely data entry to support business reporting.
  • Checking Sales Contracts from Suppliers correlate with Purchase Order requirement.
  • Administration of both electronic and paper-based filing systems
  • Booking deliveries into Sage 200 system
  • Accurate and timely to enable visibility of warehouse stock.
  • Action stock adjustments and transfers in Sage 200 based on instructions from warehouse operations teams.
  • Adhoc support within the Supply Team department or other teams in the business

Supply Chain Administrator Requirements

  • Able to work to deadlines, have excellent attention to detail and be a confident communicator.
  • The role has many areas of responsibility and requires daily liaison with key teams including the Chinese sourcing office, sales and finance teams.
  • Excellent organisational and communicational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience of Sage 200 preferred
