About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Auto Mechanic to join our team. The Auto Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing faults on vehicles in a workshop setting. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and functionality of the vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair faults on vehicles
- Perform maintenance and servicing on vehicles
- Replace faulty parts
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify issues
- Ensure compliance with safety standards
- Keep accurate records of repairs
Requirements
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as an Auto Mechanic
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components
- Ability to diagnose and repair issues efficiently
- Experience using diagnostic equipment
- Good problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid driver's license
- Certification in Automotive Technology or a related field is preferred

In return, the successful candidate will be rewarded with an hourly pay rate from £18.00 per hour .

Based in the Crewe area, this role is commutable from, Winsford, Nantwich, Northwich, Chester, Wrexham, Whitchurch, Congleton, Knutsford, Macclesfield and Stoke on Trent, amongst many other areas of Cheshire and Staffordshire regions
A DBS Check will be requested in the event of the individual being offered the position.

Salary: 23.20p/h & Overtime 34.86 an hour.
Role of the HGV Auto Electrician Mechanic:
The HGV Auto Electrician Mechanic will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical maintenance, fault-finding, and repair across a fleet PSVs. You will be responsible for ensuring vehicles remain safe, reliable, and compliant with all DVSA and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities of the HGV Auto Electrician Mechanic:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical systems (engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics) and electrical systems (wiring, lighting, CAN-bus, batteries, starter motors).
- Carry out routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and safety inspections to DVSA standards.
- Repair and install vehicle electronics, including passenger information systems, door controls, and HVAC systems.
- Complete job cards, digital records, and compliance documentation accurately.
- Support workshop team to minimise vehicle downtime and ensure safety compliance.
- Assist with hybrid/electric vehicle systems where required.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults using specialist diagnostic equipment.
- Maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) electrical controls.
What the HGV Auto Electrician Mechanic will need:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle / PSV / HGV Maintenance (essential).
- Strong electrical diagnostic and repair experience (essential).
- Previous PSV or HGV industry experience preferred.
- Familiarity with multiplex wiring, CAN-bus, and modern vehicle electronics.
- Methodical, safety-conscious, and able to work under pressure.
- Full UK Driving Licence (PCV desirable but not essential)
