Location: Hull
Contract: 2 Weeks (25th Sept – 11th Oct)
Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour (PAYE)
Hours: Monday–Friday (8am–3pm), Saturday (9am–1pm)


About the Role:
We’re looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Lab Support Worker/Cleaner to assist in a busy lab environment for a short-term contract. This hands-on role supports both the QC and R&D teams by ensuring glassware is cleaned to high standards and general lab housekeeping is maintained.


Key Responsibilities:
Glassware Cleaning & Support
• To understand the lab PPE requirements and adhere to all H&S rules
• To collect dirty glassware from the QC Lab
• To safely operate and load steamer cabinet with heavily soiled glassware
• To safely operate both industrial dishwashers
a. Loading and unloading glassware
b. Ensuring washer filters kept free of excess debris
c. Ensuring demin tank kept topped up
d. Ensuring chemicals (detergent, acid rinse, salt) kept topped up
e. Reporting any issues straight away
• Returning cleaned glassware to QC Lab and R&D Lab correctly
• To manually clean glassware and blue lids as needed and operate bottle brusher safely
• To safely fill and empty drying cabinets

General Lab Housekeeping
• To be aware of Lab hazards and PPE requirements
• To clean benches and working surfaces – QC/R&D/PA
• Change papers / trays on benches
• Empty large bins
• Fill paper roll and glove dispensers
• Clean windowsills and fume cupboards – vacuum
• Month end QC samples – steam out and hand wash
What We’re Looking For:
• Previous experience in a lab or cleaning environment is beneficial but not essential
• Proactive attitude and strong attention to detail
