RGB are currently supporting a leading civil engineering and environmental contractor in their search for a highly experienced and driven Head of Land Remediation, Earthworks & Contracting to join their senior management team.
The company delivers a wide range of technically challenging and environmentally focused projects across the UK, including major infrastructure works, regeneration and remediation schemes, bulk earthworks, landfill engineering, flood defence, environmental improvement initiatives, and large-scale enabling and development projects.
The Role
As Head of Land Remediation, Earthworks & Contracting , you will provide strategic direction and operational leadership across all business activities within your division. You’ll oversee the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of multiple projects, from tender through to completion, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
You will also play a pivotal role in developing new business opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and driving continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage project teams delivering land remediation, earthworks, and contracting projects
- Oversee tenders, bids, and business development to secure new opportunities
- Manage project programming, budgets, and resource allocation
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Provide technical guidance on remediation methodologies, materials management, and ground engineering
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful project outcomes
- Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement solutions
- Develop and mentor project managers, engineers, and site teams
About You
- Proven experience in a senior management role within civil engineering, land remediation, or earthworks
- Strong leadership, commercial awareness, and communication skills
- Technical expertise in remediation, groundworks, cut and fill, stabilisation, and enabling works
- Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction, or Project Management
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management ability
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally
