CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting for a **Grounds Operative** to join the team at Fawley. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the team to deliver grounds maintenance services to the client in a safe responsible manner.
**Responsibilities and daily activities:**
-Using petrol powered gardening machinery to control vegetation on the various site locations we work
-Using chemicals for vegetation control
-Manual handling
-Driving vans and tractors
-General maintenance and upkeep of tools/equipment
-Completing computer based training and courses using laptop computer
-Working in a safe responsible manner
-Being involved in tool box talks and safety discussions
-Adhering to procedures and safe working practices on site
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Some computer knowledge
- Knowledge of petrol powered garden equipment.
- Experience of working in a team
- Experience of outdoor work in inclement weather
- Experience of petrol gardening equipment
Desirable:
- Herbicide application ticket
- Chainsaw ticket
- Working in an industrial setting

A UK leading Commercial Grounds Maintenance company are looking to recruit site operatives to work on a full time permanent basis. Based at their Chester Office applicants will be required to service Commercial Grounds Maintenance contracts with a range of different tasks.
Duties include:
- Mow, edge and fertilise lawns
- Weed and mulch landscapes
- Trim hedges, shrubs and small trees
- Plant flowers, trees and shrubs
- Litter pick
- Apply herbicides, fungicides or insecticides on plants or soil to prevent or control weeds
- Winter services – gritting and snow clearance
- A full clean driving licence would be an advantage as would a trailer licence but no experience is required as full training will be given that will include nationally recognised qualifications that include;
- PA1 and PA6 NPTC spraying licence
- First Aid certificate
- DBS check
- Trailer licence
Your usual hours of work during the season (March to October) will be Monday to Friday 6.30am till 4.00pm (8.5 hours per day start and finish time may be adjusted), and Monday to Friday 8.00am till 4.00pm (7 hours) out of season.

This role would suit someone who wishes to further their horticultural knowledge, or someone with an interest in gardening and the desire to work outside.
You will be caring for a variety of sites in the local area, from residential properties to NHS hospitals, to prestigious commercial offices. Your duties will include grass cutting, strimming, leaf clearance, general maintenance to shrub beds, and winter gritting.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate should ideally have the following:
· 1 or more years' experience in horticulture or an interest in gardening.
· Full clean driving licence (essential)
· Knowledge of pedestrian lawn mowers and handheld machinery
· Be able to work as part of a team or on their own.
· Good plant knowledge
