An opportunity has become available to join our Clients team as a Grounds Operative on a temp to perm basis.
Our client is a well-known Landscaping company based in Warwickshire around Shipston on stour. Due to an increase in work load our client is looking for the right individuals to join their ever-growing team -
Joining the team as a Landscape Gardener your responsibilities will be, but not limited to:
- The maintaining of clients gardens and sites
- Tidying and upkeep of sites
- Mowing, Strimming, weeding where required
- Hedge strimming and cutting
- Undertaking any maintenance work that is required
Training will be given on how to use all basic equipment - some knowledge and experience would be preferable but not necessary.
First week will involve being partnered up and after all training is completed you will be allocated a van and equipment for use.
Uniform will be provided along with safety kits, you will have to however have your own safety shoes.
Hours of work
Monday to Friday 42.5 hours a week, Rota's will be given.
This is the standard working week, but Part time hours could be considered.
No Bank Holidays and no Weekends required to work.
Pay - 12.30 per hour temp to perm - chance to go Perm after 3 months
Due to the location and nature of the work a full driving licence would be required.
This will be interview basis also so a full CV will be required and availability for a face to face interview.

Purpose of the Role
To carry out landscaping operations as directed by the Foreman or any other person responsible for managing the contract.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety regulations, QA systems and company procedures.

Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, ensuring it is in good working order. Report any shortfall in PPE to the Foreman immediately. If no action is taken, escalate to your Manager, Supervisor, or Systems Administrator.

Carry out daily checks and ensure that any plant or machinery you are instructed to use is properly serviced.

1. To assist the supervisory team to effectively deliver a high quality, cost
effective horticultural and arboricultural and grounds maintenance service.
2. To assist the landscape craft operators and supervisory staff with a range of duties to the limit of training received including but not limited to:
a) Grounds Maintenance activities
b) Arboriculture duties
c) Soft landscaping
d) Hard landscaping
e) Weed Control activities
f) Vehicle safety checks
g) Equipment maintenance
h) Driving
3. To assist the supervisory team in ensuring all work is carried out in an
efficient, cost effective, and safe manner to the highest achievable standard.

3. The post holder will be required to undertake regular training to enhance skill and will be required to embrace new technology and equipment in the
execution of duties these will include but not be limited to.

b. Manual handling equipment
c. Specialist machinery and vehicles
d. Horticultural/Arboricultural/ Grounds Maintenance training.
4. The post holder should ideally hold a current u.k. driving licence, and may be required to drive a range of University vehicles in the execution of his/her duties.
5. The post holder will be expected to carry out their duties in a polite,
professional and flexible manner meeting the directives set by the Operations Manager/Deputy Environmental Services Manager, using initiative and good personal judgement
6. The post holder will be centrally based, and the role necessitates both
outdoor and indoor working, and a requirement to visit all parts of the
University.
