Major Recruitment are seeking Landscapers / Gardeners to complete work on commercial and private properties in the Teesside area.

Requirements:

• Current CSCS card
• Full UK Driving Licence (preferred but not essential)
• Previous landscaping or groundswork experience

Working Hours:

• Working Monday - Friday
• 7:30am - 4:30pm
• Overtime available on weekends

Pay Rate:

• 12.21 per hour
• 18.31 per hour for any hours worked after 37.5 hours and Saturdays

The role will include:

• Attention to detail
• Ability to work well within a team
• Some heavy lifting
• Experience using hand tools would be of benefit

Own transport is desirable due to the location but is not essential.

Growth of the aftersales and client care division requires the strengthening of the Maintenance services offered through the appointment of a Maintenance Manager for projects predominantly located in prestige areas of Central and West London

Your role will be to nurture a positive and pleasant work environment, ensuring high levels of effectiveness and communication within the office team and with the clients.

As Maintenance Manager, your responsibilities will include the day to day client care and effective management of the projects within your portfolio. This will involve managing the workforce, including direct employees, sub contract labour and specialist sub contractors in relation to the effective upkeep and ongoing works within your projects.

Delivery of the projects to the companys exemplary and demanding quality plans is essential. The successful candidate will be required to produce monthly reports for the clients, and record progress within the gardens.

A successful Maintenance Manager should also have experience with a variety of office software including email tools, excel spread sheets, and be enthusiastic about learning new skills in a dynamic and creative working environment.

The successful candidate should have at least 7 to 10 years experience of maintaining private gardens in a luxury market, including 3 to 5 years in a similar role. A complete understanding of horticulture along with appropriate qualifications is essential. A good working knowledge of pests and diseases is essential in being able to apply this knowledge in real life applications.

Ultimately the Maintenance Manager should be able to ensure the smooth running of the Maintenance Division and contribute to the organisational effectiveness of the company while managing a small team of 3 to 4 people.

Strong organisational skills and time management along with a natural proficiency in written and verbal communication will be an integral part of the successful candidates skill set as well as being able to work calmly and efficiently under pressure in a fast paced and demanding environment.

You will have full responsibility for maintaining the company’s Living Walls and Urban Greening Installations to the highest standard and will often be “Front of House”, communicating with the client and representing the company.

Our client is a leading installer of Living Walls and green solutions for urban environments. They currently employ over 100 staff in their head office, nursery and in the field, operating from a fleet of vehicles servicing projects across the UK.

The Job:

As a Horticultural Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining Living Walls at a number of the companies most prestigious sites in Central London and across the South. You will be based from home and need to go into the company yard on an occasional basis. The company have some sites that are outside of London and would require a few nights away (max 20) per year. The company pay accommodation, meals and £25 pe night.

• Attend site – General maintenance and upkeep of living walls to a high standard
