This primary school are lucky to have two Specialist Teaching Facilities one in Foundation Phase and one in Key Stage Two. Their Specialist Teaching Facilities are there to provide help for Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SCLN) and Development Language Disorder (DLD)
Alongside the school staff the school have a Speech and Language Therapist who comes in weekly to support the pupils according to their statements.
The school are keen to promote inclusion and the children follow the same topics as children of the same age. They spend some time during each week, as appropriate to their individual needs in their mainstream classes.
The school are looking for a Speech and Language Teaching Assistant 5 days a week to work alongside the class teacher in the Foundation Phase Specialist Teaching Facility. Experience with speech sounds and visual phonics would be advantageous and further training and will be provided from outreach speech and language support. This role will start in September and will be for the full academic year.
