**Duties and responsibilities related to the Laundry Attendant role**
As a Laundry Attendant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all linen and clothing items are cleaned, pressed, and presented to the highest standards. You'll work closely with the housekeeping and operations teams to maintain smooth daily laundry functions.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
As Laundry Attendant, I will support Housekeeping management and assume responsibility for the efficient operation in the following:
+ Monitor daily washing, drying, ironing, collecting, and delivery service according to the hotel policy in coordination with the Laundry Supervisor.
+ Handle guest requests and immediately refer issues and feedback to Laundry Supervisor.
+ Ensure that guest requests for additional linen are delivered promptly.
+ Collect required stock supplies for shift.

+ Knowledge of all safety, security and emergency procedures related to my position in line with brand and statutory requirements.
+ Knowledge and strict adherence to LQA standards.
**Qualifications**
To execute the position of Laundry Attendant, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:
+ High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 years' experience in a similar operational setting. Hospitality diploma/degree from a recognized hospitality school is preferred.
+ Good understanding of scheduling work, and knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals and surfaces. Confident with knowledge of fabric types, colours and fabric care.
+ Fluent in English; I understand that additional languages are preferred.

The Laundry Department is a vital part of the College community, comprising a dedicated team of 23 staff members. Equipped with industrial-grade washing machines, dryers, a steam-powered shirt unit, and a ironer for bed and table linens, the department also utilises advanced machinery such as a Butterfly folding and stacking system and a tunnel finisher for delicate garments.
Each week, the team processes up to 50,000 items for students, boarding house staff, catering teams, summer school attendees, the Bursary, and various other departments across the College. This role contributes directly to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and efficiency expected throughout the institution.

Job Description
This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, working Monday to Friday rotating shifts, 6am to 2pm one week and 2pm to 10pm the other. It's an excellent chance to grow and refine your warehouse skills in a unique and dynamic environment.
Role:
* Working with industrial washing machines and dryers
* Laundering various types of workwear
* Completing basic maintenance work on the machines
* Sorting and folding garments
* Loading / unloading chemical drums
* Packing orders
* Working within the goods-in department
* Completing a variety of tasks to ensure all laundry is completed to the highest of standards
Requirements
* Experience of working within a warehouse environment
* Comfortable working on your feet throughout the shift
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Must be able to work both 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment within a team
* Excellent attention to detail
* Experience with using a Sewing Machine is desirable but not essential
