Job Description

Neurotechnology already offers fresh hope to people living with conditions such as epilepsy, chronic back pain and Parkinson's disease. Fuelled by major investment from global tech giants and a thriving startup scene, and with the potential to transform the way we treat a huge range of conditions, this sector has a bright future. Now is the ideal time to catch this wave of innovation – and this project leadership role could give you the intellectual stimulation and strategic career growth you’ve been craving.

From the get-go, you’ll get ownership of large-scale medical device development projects. At TTP, project leaders combine technical leadership with traditional project management responsibilities, and are accountable to our clients for delivering what they need. This means taking overall control of product design architecture, crafting and selling development plans, maintaining close working relationships with clients, building and motivating your project team and taking full responsibility for delivering novel technology-driven products on time and within budget – all within the appropriate regulatory framework.

The Neurotech team focuses on IPG (implantable pulse generation) systems, intra-operative tools and non-invasive therapies for new indications as well as established applications such as epilepsy, pain relief and Parkinson's. Closed loop systems are a particular area of expertise, leading to heightened demand for our consultancy services. You’ll get to lead a range of product developments from early-stage novel technology exploration through clinical trials to commercial launch.

You’ll also get the trust and freedom your track record deserves. You’ll influence and directly impact TTP’s product delivery processes whilst further developing your commercial, managerial, and technical skills.

At TTP, you'll be surrounded by a supportive team of world-class engineers, scientists, and designers at our award-winning campus. Together, we'll explore new technological frontiers, all within a culture that values freedom and minimal bureaucracy.

Requirements

We don’t focus on job titles at TTP, and we’re inviting applications from a range of engineering or scientific backgrounds. We’re more interested in your medical device development and team management experience and the mindset you would bring to the role than your current job title.

To be shortlisted for an interview, your CV will need to include evidence of:

  • A background in any engineering or scientific discipline, with an ability to frame and solve complex problems, working from concept generation through to detail design.
  • Project and/or team leadership experience in neurotechnology, implantable devices, or an adjacent regulated medical device field. Ideally, you’ve taken a product to market, from early stage to product launch.
  • An understanding of complex multi-disciplinary system design; the ability to make system level decisions as well as getting into the detail in your own technical discipline.
  • A working knowledge of the quality systems and regulatory processes for product development and manufacturing in a regulated environment (preferably medical and ISO13485).

Benefits

  • Annual profit-related bonus
  • Employer pension contribution of 10% of basic pay
  • Private medical insurance for employees and dependants
  • Free lunch and all-day refreshments
  • Life insurance worth 6x salary
  • 25 days holiday
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave, with the option to return part-time for a year
  • Electric car leasing scheme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Season ticket loan
  • A wide range of activities, including running, board games, programming, squash, arts and crafts, and TTP’s own rock band
  • Local sports facilities and theatre discounts and memberships

Apply now to join the leading edge of innovation in neurotechnology and get the opportunity to deliver transformational products to market.

Every application will be reviewed by the hiring team and will receive a response.

Are you ready to lead the next big breakthrough in health tech? Are you ready to work with some of the brightest minds in technology to push the boundaries of what’s possible? Could you keep your clients engaged and keen to work with you time and again?

As a project leader with experience in a technical consultancy environment, you’ll be a strategically important addition to the team. You’ll be entrusted to drive the development of ground breaking healthcare products—projects where the stakes are high, and the impact is far-reaching. You’ll navigate the complexities of highly regulated environments, where collaboration, curiosity, out-of-the-box thinking, rigorous testing, and relentless learning are key. And you'll bring the tact and expertise needed to keep everything on track.

You'll partner with the world’s most ambitious companies to solve technical challenges that few others can. Leading projects at TTP is a truly rewarding experience; it’s your project – and you’re empowered to deliver. You’ll drive technical collaboration, project team engagement, and client relationships.

Your product development journeys begin by working closely with clients to define project programmes, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and brought in. You’ll quickly become an essential part of our Eyecare Team—where recent projects have included developing laser instruments to save sight and the next generation of contact lenses.

The Eyecare team will be your home, but you’ll have the opportunity to apply your expertise across a variety of product development programmes, from Deep Tech to Life Sciences. So, by joining this team, you’ll get to interact across the whole consultancy business.

At TTP, you'll be surrounded by a supportive team of world-class engineers, scientists, and designers at our award-winning campus. Together, we'll explore new technological frontiers, all within a culture that values freedom and minimal bureaucracy.

If you're a self-starter who thrives on the freedom to produce your best work, you'll fit right in here. Join us at TTP, and we’ll discover solutions to some of the most complex technological challenges of our times.

Responsibilities:

You’ll get to work with global healthcare leaders and the most exciting start-up's,  developing solutions in ophthalmic devices, optometry, surgical systems, telehealth, and more. What you’re working on will vary depending on the client’s requirements, but it will typically include:

  • Working on projects as an interdisciplinary Project Leader for the Eyecare Team. There will also be opportunities to apply your broader engineering skills to other projects across TTP.
  • Programme management.
  • Regular interactions with clients to develop fruitful project partnerships.
  • Developing working relationships with potential clients by helping them plan new projects.
  • Occasional travel to attend international events and client meetings

Requirements

We don’t focus on job titles at TTP, and we don’t expect you to have a background in ophthalmology, so we’re inviting applications from a range of backgrounds for this role – you might currently call yourself an Engineer or a Project Leader. We’re more interested in the experience and mindset you would bring to the role than the job titles you’ve held. We also welcome applications from STEM returners – so if you’ve had a career break, please consider applying.

Consultancy work at TTP involves more than technical research and development. You’ll lean into your ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to colleagues and clients from diverse fields of expertise. You are naturally curious and have a growth mindset, which will help you tackle complex challenges at the leading edge of innovation.

To be shortlisted for an interview, your CV will need to include evidence of:
