About the Role:

Our customer, a wellness technology company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Commercial Lawyer/ Legal Contracts Specialist to join their team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for someone who is early in their legal career, including non-qualified or foreign-qualified candidates, with experience in reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements within a global business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and mark up a wide range of commercial contracts, including vendor, retail, wholesale, marketplace, sponsorship, and SaaS agreements.
• Assist with updating contract templates and providing opinions on contractual clauses.
• Support contract management processes, including filing, tracking, and general administration.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across different business functions in a fast-paced, international environment.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and assist in risk management initiatives.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in-house, ideally within a global company.
• Familiarity with US contracts is highly desirable.
• Strong contract review and drafting skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
• Proactive, organised, and comfortable handling both legal and administrative tasks.

SENIOR CONTRACTS LEGAL ADVISOR - CONTRACT SURREY

Our Client, a global leader in engineering and constructing major projects for the energy and infrastructure sectors, both offshore and onshore, is currently looking for a Senior Contracts Legal Advisor to join the team based in Surrey.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCAT.

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, customer contracts, partnership agreements, service level agreements (SLAs), and licensing agreements.
• Provide expert legal advice and counsel to business units on contractual matters, risk assessment, and compliance.
• Develop and maintain standard contract templates and playbooks to streamline the contracting process.
• Manage the contract lifecycle, from initiation and negotiation through execution and termination.
• Identify and advise on potential legal risks and liabilities associated with contracts and business operations.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant laws and regulations affecting commercial agreements.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including sales, procurement, finance, and operations teams, to understand business needs and provide practical legal solutions.
• Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures related to contracting and legal compliance.
• Manage and oversee external counsel engagements when necessary.
• Stay up-to-date on relevant legal developments and industry best practices.
• Contribute to the strategic decision-making of the legal department and the wider business.
• Ensure all contractual documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable laws and company standards.

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a current practising certificate in England and Wales, or equivalent international qualification.
• A minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience in commercial contract law, preferably gained within a reputable law firm and/or an in-house legal department.
• Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements across various sectors.
• Strong understanding of contract law, corporate law, intellectual property, and data protection regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional negotiation, drafting, and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to provide pragmatic, commercially sound legal advice.
• Proficiency in legal research databases and contract management systems.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, international business environment is highly desirable.
