The role and what you will be doing…
As Legal Counsel, you will report into head of legal and take on a generalist in-house role, with a heavy focus on client commercial contracting. You will support the Group on all domestic and international legal matters. You will partner with key stakeholders in the business to provide legal support and advice to achieve resolution of legal issues in the group’s best interests.
You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with head of legal and the Group’s wider corporate governance team and develop and maintain global legal policies, templates and training materials to ensure awareness of legal processes and compliance across the Group.

- Ability to assess legal risk in a commercial context and offer pragmatic solutions.
- Confident communicator with the gravitas to advise senior stakeholders and liaise with external lawyers.

The role is based in the PayPoint head office in Welwyn Garden City and reports into the Head of Legal- Card Services. This role involves a wide range of experience and activities and will form part of the wider PayPoint Group Legal Team of 10 lawyers.
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
- Working on legal and regulatory matters relating to PayPoint Group’s cards and payments business activities including structuring of regulated and unregulated business activity under the Consumer Credit Act and Payment Services Regulations as appropriate.
