+ Work under the supervision of scientists/engineers to support the development of new products and processes.

Role Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled Systems Engineer III to join our platform engineering function. This role will support the build, operation, and automation of our cloud-hosted systems, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and security. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enable modern infrastructure, deployment automation, and support critical business applications.
Responsibilities:
+ Deliver resilient infrastructure and application stacks using Infrastructure as Code and DevOps best practices.
+ Monitor and support mission-critical, high-throughput services in production.
+ Diagnose and resolve complex system and application performance issues.
+ Collaborate with Development, QA, Security, IT Operations, and Project Management teams.
+ Maintain accurate, well-written documentation for systems and services.
+ Contribute to cloud platform maturity, security automation, and deployment strategies.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
+ Hands-on experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
+ Solid experience operating in public cloud environments (Azure preferred, AWS or GCP a plus).
+ Strong Linux and Windows system administration and troubleshooting capabilities.
+ Experience with modern monitoring and observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
+ Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
+ Proven ability to design and implement scalable, secure system architectures.
+ Strong communicator, able to convey technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders.
+ Able to mentor peers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing across teams.
+ Experience maintaining infrastructure code in versioned repositories and pipelines.
Desirable Skills:
+ Infrastructure as Code experience with tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation.

+ CI/CD pipeline experience using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.

+ Experience with centralised log management solutions (e.g., ELK, Graylog, Splunk).
+ Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
+ Familiarity with change management processes and ITIL practices.
+ Use of secrets management tools (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault).
+ Ability to write scripts or utilities in a high-level language (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
Qualifications:

As a Contracts Specialist, you will be a key member of the Legal Function, providing internal legal support on a wide range of commercial contracts matters.
Your day-to-day focus will be on supporting our commercial contracting activities, including conducting contract reviews, drafting contracts and taking part in negotiations. You may also be required to provide ad-hoc advice on related legal matters with appropriate support and to provide contracts training to our commercial teams.
You will be joining a large, friendly in-house team, with lots of support. You will work closely with other in-house lawyers across all Thermo Fisher businesses and various other functions such as R&D, Product Development, Commercial Licensing and Sales teams, IP and Procurement. We pride ourselves on providing excellent training resources and opportunities to all our Contracts Specialists.
This is a permanent contract and the role will be either hybrid based at our offices near Glasgow Airport (Inchinnan) which are newly refurbished and have an on-site café and gym or can be fully remote. Occasional travel within the EMEA region may be required.
**What will you do?**
+ Review, draft and negotiate various commercial agreements.
+ Support and, where appropriate, lead negotiations with third parties and/or customers on these agreements.
+ Take an active role in the Team's contract template standardisation, process improvement and contract automation strategy by participating in and/or leading certain relevant Team projects.
+ Consult with other parts of the organisation on the interpretation of agreements in effect or in development.
+ Educate and train employees on their role in contract negotiations and their obligations under the terms of various contracts and under applicable legal requirements.
+ Work with other members of the Global Legal team including Division Counsel as needed.
**Who we are looking for: experience, skills &** **abilities**
+ Holds a law degree in a UK jurisdiction or has at last three years' experience in a contracts-focussed role. A good working knowledge of contract law.
+ Relevant experience in contract negotiation/drafting.
+ Strong commercial awareness and business sense, with ability to navigate the various issues surrounding contracts, technology and corporate structure.
+ Able to fully engage with and influence business partners.
+ Fluency in English essential.
+ Able to deal effectively and efficiently with a high-volume workload.
