BRADFORD
I am looking for an experienced Wheeled Loading Shovel Driver to work for a National Waste Management company based in Esholt, Bradford (BD10). Ideally, you will have access to your own transport or live locally, as the site isn’t easily accessible via Public Transport. The role starts on Mon 8th September.
The role will consist of loading wagons and screeners, movement of material around site and keeping the site clean and tidy all whilst working in accordance with the Company’s health and safety, environmental and other standards as they apply to the process. You will also be required to work away from the Shovel when needed assisting in Manual Duties and sorting around the site.
The successful candidate must hold a current and valid Shovel Loader License/Ticket (not in-house) and have all your own PPE. Knowledge of Manual Handling Techniques are also vital, as the role will include lifting, shifting and manual handling.
The working week will be from 7am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays required from time to time, 7am to 2pm. The pay rate for the role is £14.97p/hr and the role is advertised as a 6 month contract lasting until a minimum of the end of February 2026.

What experience do you need to be a Loading Shovel Driver?
To be a successful loading shovel driver you must have a good understanding of Health and Safety as well as a Full UK Driving licence, experience driving large vehicles such as HGV, LGV or Buses is highly desirable not essential.
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Previous experience as a loading shovel is desirable but not essential as full training can be provided
- Experience operating large vehicles such as HGV, LGV, 7t+, Coaches or Buses is desirable but not essential
- Flexible approach to work
- Keen to learn new skills
- Previous experience in a similar role is is desirable e.g. Tug Driver, RoRo Driver, Lorry Driver, Port Operative. Crane Driver, Shovel Driver, Tug Tipper Driver, Class 2 Driver, Class 1 Driver

We are currently seeking an experienced Loading Shovel Operator to provide ad hoc temporary cover for our client's site based in Southampton .
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a loading shovel safely and efficiently on site
- Carry out additional site duties to support the wider team and site plan
- Work closely with the team and follow instructions from the Site Manager
- Ensure high levels of plant availability and performance
- Comply with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) procedures
- Conduct routine checks to ensure all machinery is operating safely and effectively
- Maintain good housekeeping and contribute to a safe working environment
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience operating a Loading Shovel in a similar environment
- Valid ticket/certification for operating Loading Shovel (e.g. NPORS or CPCS)
- Strong understanding of site health and safety practices
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work as part of a team
