**Overview of the Department/Section**
+ The Credit Analysis team is the Bank's first line of defence, sitting alongside CIB bankers to promote an optimal risk / return on the banks' lending opportunities.
+ The department comprises 50+ individuals organised across five sector-oriented teams. Each credit analyst is responsible for managing the risk exposure of an EMEA wide portfolio. **Main Purpose of the Role**
+ The credit analyst's role focuses on the preparation of forward-looking fundamental analysis in support of client onboarding, live transactions, facility renewals and annual reviews.
+ The analyst will manage an individual portfolio and, over time, be expected to develop both a sector expertise and deep individual counterparty understanding, facilitating a comprehensive top down and bottom up risk review process.

Support the transaction management function of global banks in establishing and effectively managing the credit risk loan process:

**OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT/SECTION**
Japanese Corporate Banking Division (London) is a front office in charge of business development of customers located in United Kingdom, Ireland and other demarcated countries in EMEA of which ultimate parents are Japanese Corporates.
Credit analyst team sits within the Corporate Banking Department together with the relationship management team, and its main responsibilities is to support the existing credit related businesses as well as origination of new credit businesses.

**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**

+ The credit analyst will perform forward looking fundamental credit calls on live transactions, limit renewals and annual reviews.
+ Along with client meetings the analyst completes a credit opinion including cash flow forecast, recommending approval, a neutral stance, or non-approval of the proposed transaction.
+ Updating financial analysis for quarterly and year end results. Actively monitoring assigned portfolio of IG and NIG corporates for potential changes in credit risk. Assign or update internal ratings.
+ Coach junior team members and assist team manager to review their papers.

**OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT/SECTION**
Credit Strategy Group (CSG) implements and facilitates the Chief Credit Officer's (CCrO) responsibilities for credit portfolio risk management and ensures a robust operating environment to managing credit risk. CSG in EMEA is responsible for:
+ Defining Credit Strategy and Credit Culture through Credit Risk Appetite and Credit Risk Policies & Procedures.
+ Providing insight into portfolio risks and proposing optimisation strategies to Front Office.
+ Identification of emerging risks (e.g. single name, country, sector) and highlighting portfolio vulnerabilities.
+ Ensuring a robust Risk and Control environment to support the Credit Risk Framework
+ Supporting global and EMEA Credit Risk Management.
This function includes the following teams: Credit Risk Policy & Framework (CRPF), Credit Portfolio Analysis (CPA) and Credit Solutions Management (CSM).
**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**
+ To support the Head of CSG for EMEA and all CSG Team Heads with initiatives including and not exclusive to credit risk, portfolio reporting and Management Information (MI).
+ To provide insights, analysis and support across the three lines of defence in EMEA. This would involve being a central contact point and liaison for stakeholders; coordinating queries and requests with CSG team members accordingly.
+ To partake in the maintenance, upkeep and enhancement of the core credit risk system in EMEA, across Bank and Securities.
+ To provide team members technical, logistical and diligent support with their day-to-day activities.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Support the Head of CPA with preparation of CPA materials for the EMEA Risk Management Committee (ERMC), EMEA Credit Risk Committee (ECRC) and other committees/foras as required.
+ To provide portfolio reporting materials and MI for the ECRC, other EMEA forums and initiatives as requested by senior management and stakeholders.
+ To conduct and circulate regular portfolio analysis, insights, MI and reports to stakeholders in Front Office and Credit.
+ To partner with counterparts across different global offices and actively seek opportunities for alignment, collaboration and consistency.
+ Contribute towards establishing analysis, reports and MI to control and monitor EMEA's Credit Risk Appetite and Industry Concentration frameworks.
+ To partake in the maintenance, upkeep and enhancement of the core credit risk system in EMEA.
+ To engage in projects and working groups related to credit risk, portfolio reporting, credit systems, MI and credit strategy across the group.
+ Support the remediation of Self-Identified Issues, regulatory findings and audit points.
+ To monitor and report credit risk insights for the EMEA booked portfolio, ensuring a proactive, transparent and rigorous approach to the management of credit risk and escalation of issues.
+ Provide consultation and advising on the bank's policies and procedures. Give guidance to staff members and other areas of the bank and coach/develop colleagues on these aspects.
+ Propose risk management strategies, frameworks, policies and procedures to stakeholders in the bank.
+ To partner with front and product offices and contribute to the development of the organisational credit strategy for respective sectors/ regions.
+ Ensure effective communication across all levels of management with internal and external stakeholders within EMEA and other regions. Represent CSG or own group effectively in various occasions, equip management and staff members with knowledge by sharing information appropriately in a timely manner.
+ Provide staff members with appropriate tools and resources to carry out their duties.
+ Be a point of contact for junior staff members in relation to credit risk, portfolio analysis, reporting and producing MI.
**WORK EXPERIENCE**
Essential:
+ Extensive experience in Credit Risk Management, especially related to portfolio reporting and MI.
+ Experience in resolving regulatory and audit issues related to credit and credit risk.
+ Experience in using data from different sources to perform portfolio analysis.
Preferred:
+ Minimum 3 year experience on credit risk activities associated with Global Corporates.
**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**
**Functional / Technical Competencies:**
Essential
+ Sufficient knowledge Credit Risk Management in Commercial Banking.
+ Prior experience of conducting Portfolio Analysis at different levels of granularity.
+ Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
+ Prior experience of using data visualization tools such as MS PowerBI and Tableau.
Preferred:
+ Prior experience of using SQL.
+ Prior experience of using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
+ Regular monitoring of Financial Markets and Macroeconomic events.
+ Prior experience of using Python.
**Education / Qualifications:**
