In order to develop and expand the capabilities of SAFRAN Engineering Services in the UK, we are looking to recruit an Industrial / Manufacturing Engineer to work on new development, modifications, and research and technology for electrical motors. This position will be based in Pitstone.

The Industrial / Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in the development and improvement of manufacturing processes. This position focuses on driving efficiency, enhancing quality, and reducing costs in manufacturing operations across various projects.

The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop / implement innovative manufacturing solutions that align with Safran's operational goals and to facilitate the implementation of APQP processes. Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments, using problem solving methodology, participating in process design, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

The individual will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to develop and maintain effective processes that enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.

In this role, you will facilitate continuous improvement initiatives, evaluate manufacturing processes and workflows, provide technical support to production teams, and manage tooling and equipment requirements for optimal production capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and implement changes

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a quality engineering or industrial engineering role, particularly in aerospace or a related field
  • Strong understanding of APQP processes and methodologies
  • Strong industrial background
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with industry standards and quality tools (FMEA, 8D, SPC, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to drive decision-making
  • Ability to train the trainees
