Supply Chain & Logistics Manager
Location: Bedford.
Salary: GBP45,000 - GBP60,000 per year, DoE
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 9am - 5.30pm. Fridays, 9am - 3pm.

Bridge Recruitment is helping one of our established clients to recruit for an experienced Supply Chain & Logistics Manager to join their ever-expanding team. To oversee and coordinate the movement, storage, distribution and sourcing of goods and materials within a supply chain, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities of the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager:
Developing and implement new or alternative supply chain and logistics strategies.
Creating and executing a comprehensive supply chain and logistics strategy to optimize operations and achieve business goals.
Continually try to improve and develop business performance within the constraints of legislation, fuel costs and rising environmental pressures
Managing and overseeing the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and managing supplier relationships.
Maintaining optimal inventory levels, ensuring the right products are available at the right time, and minimizing waste.
Supervising the movement of goods, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), analysing data to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency.
Recruiting, onboarding, training and management of supply chain and despatch team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
Maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and other departments.
Ensuring all supply chain and logistics activities comply with relevant regulations, safety guidelines, and ethical standards.
Understand and implement health and safety procedures
Identify, plan and manage logistics projects that will improve efficiency, resilience and performance

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Familiarity with transportation management and warehousing operations.

• Manage warehouse operations, including inventory control and order fulfillment.
• Develop and implement efficient supply chain strategies.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with carriers and 3PL providers.
• Analyze supply chain data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Lead and develop the logistics and warehouse team.

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management.
• Proven experience in warehouse operations and inventory management.
• Strong understanding of transportation management and carrier relations.
• Proficiency in WMS and TMS software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• APICS or CILT certifications are a strong asset.

• Oversee all aspects of the company's logistics and supply chain operations, including warehousing, inventory management, and transportation.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to optimise efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring performance standards are met.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational effectiveness.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations professionals.
• Ensure accurate inventory management and control, minimising stockouts and overstock situations.
• Streamline warehouse operations, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Identify and implement process improvements and technological solutions within the supply chain.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, and customer service teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Manage operational budgets and control expenditures.
• Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks and disruptions.

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Significant experience (7+ years) in operations management, with a focus on logistics and supply chain.
• Proven track record of successfully managing warehouse operations and transportation networks.
• Strong understanding of inventory management techniques and systems.
• Experience with supply chain management software and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership, team management, and communication abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, balancing remote and on-site responsibilities.
• MCIPS or CILT qualification is a plus.
