LDH la doria are well established food distributors based in Ipswich with an impressive purpose-built office with a 45,000 holding pallet fully automated warehouse. LDH have over 65 years’ experience supplying the major UK supermarkets and is recognised as the leading own label supplier of a wide range of ambient foods, sourced from every corner of the world.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Demand Planner to join our Logistics team. You will be responsible for the end-to-end stock replenishment cycle and ensuring we have the right products in the right place at the right time. This role requires a high degree of collaboration with internal and external partners and a keen eye for detail and data.
Key Accountabilities:
- Generate and strengthen accurate forecasts by analysing historical sales data, promotional insights, and statistical trends.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain optimal warehouse stock levels, ensuring products are available to meet customer demand without leading to excess stock.
- Responsible for raising and executing purchase orders based on safety stock levels, lead times, and supplier performance
Procurement and Shipping:
- Manage the entire order cycle, from raising and executing purchase orders to overseeing the movement of goods from our suppliers to our UK port of entry.
- Maintaining a rolling order schedule of product from suppliers
- Maintaining a rolling vessel nomination schedule for each shipping location
Supplier and Vendor Relationships:
- Liaise daily with international suppliers, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and haulers to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Daily liaison with international suppliers to ensure receipt and timely delivery of orders
- Daily liaison with Supply Chain Administrator to understand correct delivery of orders by international shipping agents and UK clearing agents.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Provide weekly stock and supply chain reports for your area.
- Monitor supplier performance and lead times to identify opportunities for improvement.
Team Support:
- Supervise and manage the Supply Chain Administrator, ensuring they accurately track and report on shipping schedules and order statuses.
Issue Resolution:
- Proactively communicate any issues or opportunities to internal stakeholders and escalate critical problems to senior colleagues.

What is the job?
You will be working in our Internal Logistics team, running various material flow operations within our end to end value stream to enable the production of finished goods.
Working Hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm & Friday 8am-3:30pm
Department: Tables Logistics
Interview process: 2 stage process following shortlisting – First stage: 1 hour Teams interview, Second stage: Onsite 1 hour interview

- Valid (or working towards gaining) Counterbalance Truck certificate recognized by an accredited training body. Engaging with our supervision programme to enable a safe operation.

- Work safely and follow all site HSE guidelines

- Carry out multiple material flow processes to fulfil supermarkets, stock replenishment, Kanbans and waste processing
- Use various material conveyancing methods such as Forklifts, motorised Pallet trucks and other manual methods
- Load/unload various loads from vehicles
