Job Description
Join us on this mission as a Logistics Operative working in our Packing Department at our Denham site. You'll be preparing, packing and labelling products and components for transport internally and to new and existing customers and suppliers, whilst undertaking multi-skilled duties within Packing.
Aspects of the role include to:
- Primary and final packing of parts, components and products in accordance with the customer and technical requirements.
- Validating batch numbers, part descriptions and amount against the SAP system and flagging discrepancies to Cell Leaders.
- Ensure that all goods are packed with the appropriate materials according to the instructions, and that labels and addresses are attached and clearly visible/legible.
- Ensuring that delivery instructions are correct and identify the package to be shipped.
- Liaising with the Logistics team and Shipping clerk to ensure that goods are ready for dispatch.
- To undertake self-inspection and quality check of work undertaken.
- To become competent in a variety of multi-skilled duties within Detail Stores, Raw Material Stores and Internal Transport using a variety of processes and techniques in accordance with company and departmental objectives.
- To accurately pick, pack and issue materials, goods and stock from Detail and Raw Material Stores areas.
- To take receipt of all materials, goods and stock from the main factory and external sources into the Detail Stores.
- Internal transportation - movement of goods throughout the factory including use of the forklift truck, Robur electric pallet stacker and scissor lift equipment.
- Undertaking duties within Raw Material Stores such as saw operation.
Characteristics & Skills
- Basic stores and packing experience gained from a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Can work under pressure to balance competing job priorities to agreed deadlines.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office packages including Word and Excel.
- Has a structured and methodical working style with good interpersonal skills and a team player with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions / requests whether verbal or written.

The key purpose of this role is to support the warehouse/logistics team with all admin and office based tasks, managing the transport and delivery of products as required.
Key duties include:
Managing stock levels and ensure timely deliveries, reviewing sales orders and assigning which stock should be picked in line with first-in-first-out (FIFO) principles.
Monitoring warehouse activities, including shipping and receiving, making sure quality of goods received and goods sent out is to the right standard and supported by the correct documentation.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills - you pick up the phone or speak to people in person where possible instead of sending an email.

+ Support the establish of the newly formed Tooling and Ground Support Equipment Inventory Support Centre (ISC).
+ Support the development of robust working processes to support the attainment of Military Aviation Authority accreditations.
+ Receive materiel into the ISC using a combination of Boeing and end user Log IS and produce any necessary paperwork.
+ Raise Purchase Requests for the calibration or replacement of items through either Boeing or MOD contracts as appropriate.
+ Receive and issue materiel from either the Boeing or MOD Supply Chain and bring it on charge using appropriate Log IS.
+ Identify and resolve supply chain management issues and discrepancies.
+ Progression of end user enquiries to support maintenance planning and decision making.
+ Support Company safety processes and procedures by identifying and reporting safety concerns to preclude injury or hardware damage.
+ Apply Continuous Improvement methodologies to seek opportunities to deliver best value for money to the programme
+ Develop productive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
+ Carry out other Supply duties as required by the Material Flow Manager or the Material Flow Team Leader.
+ Follow standard operating procedures and work in a methodical, tidy and safe manner.
