The Supply Chain Manager will play a key role in driving product quality, customer satisfaction, and overall business performance. This role leads procurement, inventory, and supplier management, and manages the Senior Stock Controller. The position ensures compliance with medical device regulations while promoting innovation, continuous improvement, and scalable supply chain strategies to support business growth.
Roles and Responsibilities- Oversee accurate day‑to‑day stock control, order processing, and production and dispatch planning
- Manage the Senior Stock Controller
- Lead the annual stock take and maintain a stock variance of <1% of total value
- Ensure processes for cycle counting and stock audits meet the company’s needs and support Senior Stock Controller with execution
- Buying and scheduling of materials against demand and forecast using data‑driven and lateral thinking approaches
- Use inventory software to communicate delivery schedules, delays, and changes to the Sales Team
- Troubleshoot supply chain issues creatively and implement corrective actions
- Design, implement, and maintain inventory tracking systems for real‑time visibility
- Effectively manage the planning and control of materials to support business needs
- Source suppliers, negotiate contracts, and conduct audits with the Regulatory Affairs (RA) team
- Identify and control critical suppliers in accordance with ISO 13485, FDA, and MDR standards
- Ensure all supplier documentation, agreements, and records are complete, current, and centrally maintained to support traceability, compliance, and audit readiness
- Produce clear, actionable inventory and procurement reports to support strategic decisions, identify risks and inefficiencies, and recommend cost‑reduction and process improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with sales, purchasing, production, and warehouse teams to optimise inventory flow
- Strive to meet monthly invoicing targets and support order fulfillment
- Promote sustainable practices and assess environmental impact across the supply chain
- Lead a structured monthly and quarterly review process to enhance visibility, accountability, and decision‑making across supply chain and purchasing
- 3+ years in a senior supply chain, operations, or procurement role
- Proven track record in leading supply chain transformation or implementing MRP/ERP systems
- Strong background in data‑driven decision‑making and process improvement
- Experience collaborating with multiple departments
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, pharma, aerospace) with ISO 13485, FDA, or MDR compliance
- Relevant qualification in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field
- Membership in Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS)
- Understanding of Six Sigma, or Lean methodologies
- Exposure to platforms such as LakeView, SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Epicor
- Strong and direct communication skills
- Proven leadership ability with a focus on team motivation and development
- Excellent planning, organisation, and multitasking capabilities
- Analytical mindset with strength in forecasting and strategic sourcing

Overview
Our site in Ashford is recruiting for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead the factory Supply Chain and Logistics teams. You will lead short term planning and execution of inbound raw and pack materials, finished goods scheduling and dispatch to have the right stock, labour and transport available to meet a varying forecast.
This role is a key interface with central planning and commercial teams and sits as part of our Site Leadership Team at the Ashford site, partnering Operations to identify and deliver efficiency improvements.
What we need from you- Previous experience as a Supply Chain/Planning Manager from a manufacturing or logistics background (Food/FMCG ideally)
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders at all levels
- Experienced people leader who has led multi-disciplined teams and projects
- Experience utilising supply chain planning systems (ideally SAP and Kinnaxis)
- Providing leadership of the planning and logistics teams on site
- Developing strategic improvement plans for supply chain processes and practices across the site
- Contributing to the overall strategic direction of the site, ensuring targets and milestones are hit
- Collaborating with Operational teams to ensure labour is available to meet all short-term plans and capacity is correctly planned and balanced in our planning systems

The ideal candidate will be Six Sigma Yellow or Green belt certified or have a good understanding of Lean principles/ continuous improvement methodologies. You will be proficient in the use of MS Office, in particular Excel and have an analytical mindset and the ability to create and manipulate data types for accurate reporting using SAP, Power BI, and Business Warehouse 7.4 capabilities. Previous experience with internal and external stakeholder management at various levels in a professional capacity combined with strong negotiation and influencing skills are key to being successful in this position. This role is suitable for a positive, self-starter looking to drive change and continuous improvement with a high level of resilience who can think logically outside the box to problem solve.
