- Manage and optimize day-to-day warehouse and distribution operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, dispatch, and inventory management.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a large team of warehouse staff, supervisors, and operational support personnel.
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the operational areas.
- Implement and maintain robust inventory control systems to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing lean methodologies and performance metrics to identify and implement operational enhancements.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and key suppliers.
- Oversee the effective use of warehouse management systems (WMS) and other operational technologies.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost control and achievement of financial targets.
- Collaborate with other departments, including procurement, sales, and customer service, to ensure seamless supply chain integration.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports on operational performance for senior management.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the operations team.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in operations management within a logistics and distribution environment.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large operational teams and complex warehouse facilities.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain best practices, warehouse management systems (WMS), and inventory control techniques.
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and best practices in warehouse operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and implement lean methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Proficiency in using WMS, ERP systems, and standard office software.
- Ability to manage budgets and P&L effectively.
- Flexibility to adapt to a hybrid working model and occasional travel as required.
