We are looking for experienced Machine Technicians, our ideal candidate will have mechanical/ electrical skills. 

In your new role as a Machine TechnicianTechnical Operator

• Operation of bespoke machines.
• Perform quality control
• Perform technical cleaning of equipment.
• Repair/refurb components that are used in the machines.
• Responsible for the upkeep of tools/toolboxes in ensuring having all the tools at hand all the time.
• Responsible for the upkeep of the Production workshop in both using and cleaning.
• Preventative/Reactive maintenance of automated Production lines.
• Maintain high standards of H&S practices
• Able to assist our external software support by having good communication skills to resolve issues/concerns with the Production machines.
• Actively looking to improve on Productivity and share this drive with other shifts.
• Be able to train others in due course.

Key Skills and Experience required

• Electrical/Mechanical experience advantageous
• Pneumatic maintenance experience
• Analytical & Basic Computer Skills
• Strong IT skills
• Ability to read diagrams, technical drawings & manuals.
• Ability to fault find to component level.
• Ability to understand production planning to ensure production flow.
• Excellent time management.
• Able to work under pressure.
• A keen eye for detail and the ability to understand and challenge data.

Machine Technician / Machine Operator / Machine Minder who has experience of working within a fast-paced manufacturing / production environment, operating and running machinery with excellent communication and team working skills is required for a well-established manufacturing company based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.

SALARY: Starting at £32,000 per annum + Regular Pay Reviews + Benefits an.

• Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs on production equipment.
• Operate and calibrate product treatment lines, ensuring safe and accurate chemical application.
• Monitor and adjust equipment settings to maintain optimal processing conditions and minimise downtime.
• Identify and troubleshoot basic mechanical faults, escalating more complex issues to the Plant Manager.
• Keep accurate records of repairs, calibrations, chemical usage, and cleaning, in line with certification and health & safety requirements.

• Basic mechanical and engineering skills, with experience in operating or maintaining machinery.
• A practical mindset with the ability to follow technical procedures accurately.
• Good problem-solving ability and initiative when handling mechanical issues.
• Forklift Truck (FLT) experience is desirable but not essential.

• Durham location
• Annual Salary - circa £49K- £2K DOE per annum inclusive of 3 shift premium
• Working hours 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm & 11am-7am (rotating)
• 37.5 hour week

• Maintaining paint plant, coating and wash based facilities
• Carryout fault finding activities and undertake timely repair of equipment in the following areas; Conveyor systems, fluid tanks, pumps, motors, bearings, electrical systems
• Undertake planned preventative maintenance activities on automated production facilities. (PPM)
• Fault diagnosis, servicing and repair of the pain and wash facilties across the site
• Drive improvement activities and work with external suppliers to deliver projects on time
• Able to prepare shift reports to highlight the shift problems and communicate this to the team in a shift handover

• Has served a 4 year apprenticeship in Multi-skilled maintenance, preferably in an automated manufacturing environment.
• Educated to HNC level or equivalent in a Multi-Skilled discipline (Mechanical Bias).
• Has experience maintaining automated facilties, fault finding and implementing improvements.
• Possess a good mechanical knowledge of pumps, motors, conveyor systems including pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical.
• Has experience refurbishing pumps, motors and bearings
• Possess a good knowledge of fabrication and welding techniques
• Able to produce technical reports with good working knowledge of maintenance systems.

• Reacting to mechanical breakdowns across a busy manufacturing site
• Conducting routine planned preventative maintenance (PPMs)
• Replacing bearings, gland packing, belt and chain drives
• Assisting with equipment installation and upgrades
• Ensuring safe and compliant working practices at all times

• Proven maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot under pressure.
• A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement

• Standard hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 15:45
• Excellent overtime rates available:
• Weekday overtime paid at 1.5x
• Weekend overtime paid at 1.75x
• Standby/on-call payments available for both weekday and occasional weekend cover
• Disturbance fees and minimum callout hours paid if called in.

Mechanical Maintenance Technician 6510

Location:  Bridgwater
Hours:  Full-time
Salary:  £35,000 - £37,000 per annum 

Key Responsibilities of a Mechanical Maintenance Technician

• p>Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across all site machinery and infrastructure

• Respond rapidly to equipment breakdowns and implement effective solutions

• Support operations by resolving mechanical issues impacting production efficiency

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reliability and resolve complex faults

• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and site procedures

• Complete actions from the Corrective Action Report (CAR) system

• Communicate maintenance plans and machine handovers with relevant departments

• Assist with commissioning, upgrades, and configuration of machinery and facilities

• Maintain detailed records of work completed, parts used, and fault analysis

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site

Key Skills of a Mechanical Maintenance Technician

• Time-served apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in engineering

• Experience in machine and facilities maintenance within manufacturing

• Proficient in fault finding and root cause analysis

• PC literate; experience with maintenance systems (e.g., CMMS)

• Effective communicator with strong problem-solving ability

• Able to work independently and as part of a team

• Familiarity with safe working practices, equipment design, and build

• Willingness to travel occasionally to supplier or partner sites if required

• Flexible, proactive, and accountable with strong initiative
