Salary: 20 per hour (approx. 35,000 per year)
Hours: Four-day working week (Monday to Thursday)

About the Role
We are looking for an experiencedMachine Tool Fitter to join our client's brilliant team in Nuneaton. The successful candidate will be responsible for dismantling, cleaning, repairing, and reassembling precision grinding machines and other workshop equipment.
This is a hands-on, workshop-based role ideal for someone with a strong background in mechanical fitting, machine tools, and fault diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities

Strip down grinding machines and other precision equipment.

Steam clean and prepare components for inspection and repair.

Identify and repair mechanical faults, replacing worn or damaged parts as needed.

Reassemble machines to a high standard, ensuring full operational functionality.

Carry out routine maintenance and adjustments.

Work from technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.

Collaborate with the engineering team to improve repair and rebuild processes.
Requirements

Proven experience as aMachine Tool Fitter ,Mechanical Fitter , or similar role.

Background working withmachine tools (grinders, lathes, mills, etc.).

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and precision assemblies desirable.

Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

The role
Operate a Harford CNC with FANUC controls to produce quality components to drawing, keeping the machine set, running and within tolerance. You'll program at the control from drawings, adjust offsets, carry out basic checks and keep accurate records.
What you'll do
Set, operate and program at the control from drawings
Run first-off and in-process inspections; maintain tight tolerances
Adjust tooling/offsets; complete basic maintenance and housekeeping
Work collaboratively with production/quality to hit targets and lead times
Keep clear job records and handovers
What you'll need
FANUC control experience (essential)
Confident programming from engineering drawings (G-code at the control)
Experience on Harford machines is a plus
Solid understanding of tooling, feeds/speeds and machining best practice
Quality focus with ability to read and interpret drawings and measuring equipment
Reliable, safety-first approach; right to work in the UK
Nice to have
Experience with Heidenhain or NUM controls
Both turning and milling exposure
Basic preventative maintenance experience

We are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer (Robotics /Automation Engineer) for a market leading business within the Automation Industry who provide support across a range of manufacturing clients within the Aerospace and Automotive sectors to help improve productivity. This is a permanent role that has been created due to continued expansion. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background working within an Automation maintenance based role within a manufacturing environment. This is a Days based role Monday – Friday 0830 – 1730 + No Call Out
All travel time is paid door to door + all addtional hours paid at premium rates - Realistic Earnings up to £50k
The role will cover sites mainly in the Midlands / NW but also some across the UK so a willingness to travel is required.
This role would ideally suit a candidate with a maintenance background looking to develop and progress within the controls/ automation industry.
Role Description
- Provide support to client sites across the UK and Ireland.
