Machinist / Toolmaker
Based in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey
40 hour week, paid overtime when available, OUTSIDE IR35
Contract role, 3-6 month initially, some flexibility with start times, early finish Fridays
A Machinist / Toolmaker is required for an immediate start.
The fabrication workshop in Sunbury is easily reached by both road (2 minutes from the M3 with free parking) and public transport (few minutes walk from Kempton Park train station).
You will need to be a confident user of both manual and CNC machinery including:
- CNC Mill - C-Tek KM-80D using a CNT830 Milling Controller
- Manual Mill - GATE PBM-2000
- Lathe - Colchester 2000
- Pillar Drill - Baileigh
The CNC Mill runs on G-code and there is an existing program library, however, you will need to be fully competent in reading manufacturing drawings and capable of programming the CNC machine accordingly.
The role would primarily involve operating the CNC Mill for the majority of your time, estimated at around 50-75% of the time focused on it. The rest of your time would be spent on the manual machines, bandsaw and hand tools.
Please state your hourly rate requirement upon application and the following:
- 40 hour week
- Flexible start and finish times
- 7am-8am start
- finish no earlier than 4pm
- finish at lunchtime on Fridays if all hours made up
- Overtime available at needs of business
