Previous cleaning experience is desired, but not essential. Naturally friendly, with good written and verbal communication skills, you’ll be able to communicate with customers and managers whilst complying with Health & Safety regulations.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, self-motivated with a keen eye for detail. You’ll be able to work on your own initiative, organising your own time, as you’ll be managed remotely.

We are now recruiting for Automation Maintenance Technician at our Glasgow Mail Centre, St Rollox Business Park, Glasgow, G21 1AA site. In this role your potential earning will be over £51,051 per annum!
Salary: £1,051 per annum, plus night shift allowance of ,100 per annum (pro rota), 22.5 days annual leave with bank holidays and a defined contribution pension scheme. A weekend supplement for Saturday ( 1 per attendance) and Sunday ( 02 per attendance) shift attendance is applicable.
T e successful candidate will be required to follow the Glasgow Mail Centre shift rotation system, as outlined below with some degree of voluntary flexibility to meet our 24/7 operational needs on occasion, including voluntary overtime coverage and occasional shift pattern flexibility. The role will cover early, late and nights, typical attendance is below:
Week 1 - Sunday - Sunday 22:00 - 07:10
Week 2 - Monday - Friday 14:28 - 22:10
Week 3 - Monday - Friday 07:00 - 15:34 Saturday 07:00 - 19:00 and Sunday 08:00 - 20:00
Week 4 - 6 days off then start back Sunday night shift again
The Role
Shift attendance equates to 40 hours per week - Full time.
Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of automation assets through completion of effective maintenance procedures. Key aspects of the role include:
• Perform maintenance tasks, including preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance
• Performing continuous improvement activities
• Provide effective and efficient support to the Engineering Manager, Maintenance Team Leader and Engineering Team Coaches, completion of end of shift reports, fault logging and data entry
• Identify the root cause of automation breakdowns and prioritize corrective actions to meet operational processing requirements
• Monitor equipment performance and improve automation outputs in collaboration with operational stakeholders
• Identifying and working on Continuous Improvement projects, conception to implementation ownership, for machinery in the Hub/ Mail Centre
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team to achieve common goals
About you
As an experienced multi-skilled engineer you’ll be qualified in electrical and mechanical engineering (minimum ONC Electrical Engineering / NVQ Level 3 – or equivalent). Understanding Health & Safety legislation, you’ll have first-hand experience of maintaining automation equipment, ideally Programme Logic Controllers (PLC), along with a flexible approach and the ability to communicate complex issues effectively. You are required to have a full UK driving licence as on occasion you may be asked to travel to other sites.

The Traffic Office Administrator is a vital role at Preston VOC as it plays a part in supporting a safe, efficient and cost-effective fleet. Standards and methodology must be followed while you:
• Ensure that the Distribution Management System is kept up to date and data correctly input daily, all drivers are de-briefed at the end of their duty.
• Ensure that Isotrak, Business Asset Tracker and Vision FTA, the system we use to record our HGV drivers hours is kept up to date and data correctly input daily in order to ensure that we comply with European Legislation.
• Issue vehicle keys and logbooks in line with Royal Mail standards.
• Ensure digital tacho cards are downloaded in line with Royal Mail policy.
• Daily debrief to be carried out with all drivers, any unresolved issues to be passed onto shift manager.
• Ensure planned maintenance is carried out for vehicles and that the maintenance board and vehicle files are kept up to date.
In addition, the role will be required to cover additional admin duties as and when required.
A bit about you /strong>
• Organised, independent and self-motivated
• Knowledge of safety and legal requirements, including drivers’ hours legislation, vehicle checks, Safe Systems of Work, risk assessments and accident investigation
• Industry experience and working knowledge of the mail and parcel operation preferred
• Computer literate with good numeracy and literacy skills, and good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Able to input data to set deadlines whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times
