We have an exciting opportunity to work for Royal Mail, the country's leading mail and parcel delivery service. Pay rates start at £13.37 per hour. These positions are based around the Ely area.

You don't need any experience; we offer full support for you to succeed in your role! First Call Contract Services are an employer of choice for candidates from many backgrounds, such as delivery driver, warehouse, customer service, support worker, retail associate, cleaner and many more.

*All staff will need a VALID UK MANUAL DRIVING LICENSE with no more than 6 points and no major convictions as you may be required to drive a company vehicle from time to time*

Main Duties of Delivery Person:

• Delivering letters and small parcels to local homes and businesses, both in company vans and on-foot.
• Sorting mail before leaving the depot
• Processing returns in line with agreed processes
• Delivering excellent customer service and representing Royal Mail to your best ability

Pay:

• £13.37 per hour.
• Paid weekly

PLEASE NOTE: You will be required to Complete Royal Mail Vetting Process

Hours: 30:00 hours per week, working 5 days across Monday - Sunday with 2 rotational days off, working between 13:55 and 19:55. Please note this is predominantly a parcel delivery duty.
                                                                   

Due to operational demand, on Sundays you will be required to work from Stevenage Delivery Office, London Road, Stevenage, SG1 1AA from 9am to 3pm.

• Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes
• Follow routes and time schedule
• Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
• Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve clients’ complaints
• Collect payments
• Inform customers about new products and services
• Complete logs and reports
• Follow DOT regulations and safety standards

• Proven working experience as a Delivery Driver
• Valid professional driver’s license
• Ability to operate forklifts and tractors in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Good driving record with no traffic violations
• High school degree
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
• Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations
