**Overview**
The role as z/OS Mainframe Systems Programmer involves upgrading and supporting the z/OS operating system and ISV products, mainly from IBM and Computer Associates (CA).
**Your responsibilities will include:**
+ Performance monitoring using Omegamon, RMF, SMF and Splunk
+ Involvement in performance related task and projects - WLM, PR/SM changes
+ Upgrading, maintaining and supporting the z/OS operating system
+ Upgrading, maintaining and supporting ISV products particularly from the vendors; IBM and Broadcom
**The ideal candidate for this role will have the below experience and qualifications:**
+ Must have extensive experience of z/OS Mainframe systems programming. **This is essential to the role**
+ Must have knowledge of iWS scheduling software
+ Must have knowledge of SAS
+ Must have knowledge of Parallel Sysplex
+ Desirable to have knowledge of MXG and MICS
+ Must have knowledge of a combination z/OS, SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, USS, SDSF, JCL, Rexx.
+ Must have knowledge of IBM and Broadcom products and be able to work independently.
+ Must have excellent problem determination skills and be a true team player.

**Job Description**
A Systems Engineer, or Senior Systems Engineer is required to maintain the correct level of Systems Design throughout a project life cycle. Working within a flexible engineering environment this role will become part of a team of highly motivated, skilled and experienced individuals whose primary activities relate to electrical power generation and distribution systems, and include:
- System requirement definition, working with the customer in a team context
- System design including architectures, performance analysis and integration aspects
- Requirement management and compliance analysis
- Responsible for Systems related technical decisions and providing the Systems interface to the customer.
- Participation in system test rig design, test rig commissioning and system testing
- Support of system testing at the site and customer's facility
- Preparation of documentation with the end goal of system qualification and aircraft certification (including system specifications, interface control documents, system description documents, test specifications and reports)
- Support for compiling and collating documentation for Safety of Flight / Certification, and issuing the System Declaration of Design and Performance (DDP)

**Job Requirements**

Systems Engineers with MATLAB / SIMULINK
Are you an experienced Systems Engineer with a good understanding of control systems, signal processing and model-based design using MATLAB / Simulink.
The Belcan team is working on exciting new projects and is looking for Systems Engineers with Matlab and Simulink experience. Based in Glasgow the role can be carried out remotely.
These are Contract roles (Inside IR35) with Hybrid or Remote working, you will be part of the Belcan project team engaged on technologically advanced Control systems.
Due to winning new projects, we are recruiting Contract Systems Engineers for an initial 12 month contract, who will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing engineering system models in Simulink for Aerospace and Marine applications.
They will need a deep understanding of control systems, signal processing, and model-based design. Matlab will be used to generate the code for the Simulink model. The engineer will optimize the models for performance, accuracy, and resource utilization. Create comprehensive documentation for the models, including user guides and technical specifications.
They will work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and project managers, and have the ability to liaise and work with Stakeholders to provide services accurately and on time.
The role will provide an important element in the Active Control System to be used on a new Submarine platform, a type of hydrostatic / hydro dynamic autopilot.
Ideally the successful Systems Engineers will be degree qualified with previous experience in the above Systems, or transferable Systems skills from other Vehicle industries, and a proven track record in Engineering.
Successful applicants must have, or meet eligibility requirements, to obtain UK Security Clearance to SC level. They must have the Current Right to work in the UK (No Sponsorship available).

- Experience of delivering projects and managing customer expectations on customer sites.
