Our client are a market leader in their industry, they are seeking a maintenance team leader to join their team in Coalville. The role will be responsible for a 4 man team and cover the sites machinery maintenance.
Responsibilities & Duties – Maintenance Team Leader
- Lead the shift maintenance team
- Report out on shift maintenance team activities
- Ensure team works to high standards of health & safety to meet or exceed legislative requirements & company standards
- Deputise for Shift Manager if they are not on site
- Ensure shift team are following reporting protocols and carrying out maintenance reporting through CMMS system
- Ensure shift team are filling out Major Breakdown Reports as required
- Lead completion of TPM/PPM activities
- Constantly monitor each stage of the process.
- Ensure correct spare parts are identified and fitted to operate safely
- Rectify all stoppages/malfunctions, escalating for support when appropriate
- Ensure that the team always follow the site PPE policy.
Essential experience and qualifications – Maintenance Team Leader
- ONC level 3 diploma in relevant field of engineering but HNC in Engineering preferred
- Siemens S7 PLC training
- Fanuc Robot Training
- You will need a good working knowledge of PLC’s and all associated controlled automated equipment and be a competent in fault diagnosis on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

They are seeking a hands-on Chief Engineer / Lead Maintenance Engineer to take responsibility for their fully automated production line and small engineering team. This role is critical to ensuring smooth production, minimise downtime, and the continued efficiency of the facility. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer with FMCG or food & drink production background to step into a key role.
Key Responsibilities: Lead Maintenance Engineer:
- Full responsibility for the maintenance, operation, and performance of the automated production line.
- Lead all preventative and reactive maintenance
- Oversee the on-shift team during production; provide leadership, support, and direction.
- Supervise and work with shift leaders who carry out first-line maintenance, changeovers, and routine checks.
- Take the lead on more complex breakdowns and repairs (e.g. gearboxes, conveyors, bearings).
- Ensure compliance with hygiene and H&S standards.
- Support a professional, safe, and efficient culture on the shop floor.
Experience & Skills Required: Chief Engineer:
- A strong background with the maintenance of machinery that would be found in an FMCG environment

- Proven experience in fault finding, strip-down, and repair of production machinery.
- Knowledge of bottling/packaging lines or transferable industries (e.g. food, beverage, confectionery, or FMCG).
