Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance Planner to join our team at our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all maintenance activities to ensure the plant operates with minimal downtime and optimal efficiency. The Maintenance Planner will work closely with the production, engineering, and maintenance teams to develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies tailored to the equipment used.
Key Responsibilities:
· Maintenance Planning & Scheduling:
o Develop and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for all equipment, including mixers, pellet mills, grinders, conveyors, bagging lines, etc.
o Plan and schedule corrective maintenance and repair tasks in coordination with production schedules to minimise downtime.
o Working with production planners to ensure downtime is managed effectively
o Managing external contractors as and when required
o Management of engineering projects as they arise.
· Work Order Management:
o Review and prioritise work requests from operations.
o Track and report on work order completion, backlog, and labour efficiency
o Analyse equipment history and recommend improvements based on recurring issues.
· Inventory & Parts Management:
o Ensure necessary spare parts and tools are available in inventory.
o Work with the appropriate team to source parts and manage vendors.
· Documentation & Compliance:
o Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment manuals, and SOPs.
o Ensure all maintenance work complies with company safety policies and regulatory standards
· Continuous Improvement:
o Identify opportunities for improving maintenance practices and equipment reliability.
o Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) of major failures and implement corrective action
Qualifications:
· Education: HND or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred.
