Are you an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician seeking a new job opportunity, and are you happy working a 3 shift rotation system!
We are actively looking for 6 Maintenance Technicians to join a leading manufacturing business in Telford, Shropshire. This is working a 3 shift rotation system (mornings, afternoons and nights), and the annual salary is just over £35,000 per annum (which includes a shift allowance).
The hiring manager can offer develop opportunities and they are open to putting you through a HNC qualification (should you wish to pursue this further), and this would offer you the opportunity to progress and become a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.
We are looking for candidates who have come from an FMCG environment, as well as candidates who have previously come from the armed forces or military (RAF, British Army etc).
Candidates who have previously worked as one of the below would be a good fit for this role:

- Investigate and apply continuous process improvements, focusing on reducing quality defects and enhancing machine productivity.
- Manage departmental stock, track spending, and source quality components while controlling costs.
- Mentor junior team members and apprentices, providing guidance and support to develop their skills.

Key Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for:
- Complying with the health and safety policy and regulations.
- Resolving breakdowns, carryout PM’s and work on project / improvement works with a view to minimizing production downtime.
- Carrying out risk assessments with the relevant people and put controls in place to minimise the risk to acceptable levels where reasonably practicable.
- Lock off any dangerous machinery immediately/ or repair and notify.
- Actively seek to undertake PMs on offline machinery where time allows.
- Fully complete PM sheets with all observations, jobs completed and recommendations and file with the Maintenance Planner, whilst always looking at ways of improving to PMs.
- Actively gain as much information as possible from production personnel regarding the fault on the machine to speed up the fault-finding process.
- Ensure engineering log and computer systems are fully filled in with all relevant information including PM numbers, all used parts, plant numbers, urgency of required parts, at the end of each shift.
- Ensure all communications with external persons are conducted in a professional manner which reflects the company profile.
Qualifications, skills and experience
To be successful in this role we are looking for the right behaviours and competencies as well as a proven track in a similar position. The ideal candidate will ideally have the following:
- HNC, City & Guilds or time served apprentice with appropriate electrical engineering qualifications.
- Experience within a similar role ideally gained within a food manufacturing environment, if not food, experience within any manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- Electrically or biased, or multi-skilled. PLC experience highly desirable.
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems experience highly desirable
- Flexible approach with a positive 'can-do' attitude.
- Experience of SAP highly desirable.

Job Description
Temporary Maintenance Technician/Handyman, £15.50ph + Hol pay paid weekly!
Leicester LE2, Tools provided, no driving required.
This is a hands-on position within a student accommodation team, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
What you'll do:
- Reactive maintenance in occupied rooms
- Repairs to building fabric, including painting and general upkeep
- Plumbing fixes: toilets, sinks, showers
- Furniture and lock repairs
- Lightbulb replacements and descaling
- Communal area upkeep and refuse management
- Regular PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) checks
- Prompt issue reporting and proactive standards upkeep
What you'll bring
- Experience in maintenance, caretaking, or handyman roles
- Skilled in general repairs and building fabric work
- Strong communication and teamwork
- Physically fit and adaptable
- Health & Safety aware
