Graduate Training Programme: First 6 months

  • Develop a core knowledge of how the business operates - warehouse, logistics, supply chain, administration, IT software, and marketing.
  • Get hands-on with the vast product range and learn about different manufacturers and the electrical distribution industry.
  • Start building relationships, making deals and advising customers face-to-face over the trade counter e.g. electricians, contractors and tradespeople.
  • Begin your formal sales training course and network with other Graduate Trainees.
  • Complete workbook assessments to underpin your learning and development and receive financial incentives for each one passed to a required standard.

6-12 months

  • Move to internal sales account management, engaging with business customers over the phone e.g. construction companies, local government authorities, housing developers and hotels.
  • Learn business development strategies and how to target and win new trading accounts.

12 months and beyond

  • Progress to a diverse business-to-business field sales management position, with increased earning potential and bigger bonuses.
  • Travel locally in your company car, meeting clients, discussing projects, and arranging social activities.
  • Work towards running your own business in the group, learning about staff management, purchasing, profit and loss, etc. The business operates in a decentralised manner, allowing local managers to make informed decisions that drive the business forward.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with business leaders to understand talent needs and develop strategic talent management plans, including workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership development.
  • Design, implement, and manage programs for employee engagement, performance management, and career development.
  • Oversee the full employee lifecycle, from talent acquisition and onboarding to retention and exit strategies.
  • Provide expert guidance and coaching to managers on HR best practices, including performance improvement, conflict resolution, and employee relations.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that support the company culture and business goals.
  • Analyze HR data and metrics to identify trends, measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives, and provide actionable insights.

Qualifications:

  • CIPD qualification or other relevant professional HR certification.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with a significant focus on talent management, organizational development, or strategic HR business partnering.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing successful talent management strategies, including succession planning and leadership development programs.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, employment law, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and HR analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote environment.
