About The Role
We are seeking a talented
Management Accountant / Financial Accountant
to join our Finance team. This role offers excellent exposure across the business, working closely with senior management, department heads, group directors, and external stakeholders. You will play a key part in delivering accurate monthly accounts, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs for Group, including P&L, KPIs, balance sheet and cashflow.
- Provide insightful analysis to improve performance and enhance understanding of financial results.
- Perform balance sheet reviews, ensuring reconciliations are robust and issues are resolved promptly.
- Manage cost allocations and review monthly with budget holders.
- Support preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and detailed commentary.
- Maintain and develop strong financial controls, processes, and systems.
- Assist with year-end statutory audit, internal audits, and tax queries.
- Prepare internal and external reporting for investors, shareholders, and stakeholders.
- Oversee VAT returns, tax packs, and ensure full compliance with financial regulations.
- Support weekly payment run checks and online banking processes.
- Contribute to Finance team initiatives and provide support in operational and board meetings.
About You
We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with:
- A professional accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or currently working towards one.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation (VAT, corporation tax, employee taxes), and financial controls.
- Proven experience in management accounting, statutory reporting, and producing budgets/forecasts.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence using financial systems (Microsoft Dynamics experience desirable).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders.
- A flexible, self-motivated, and collaborative approach.

The Chief Risk Office function has Group-wide responsibility for the management and control of all credit, market, operational, enterprise and liquidity risks and has the responsibility of continual development of methods for risk measurement, frameworks and creating a bank wide strong risk culture. You will work within the Operational Risk Management (ORM) department within the Risk Division. As a second line of defence function, ORM is responsible for oversight across all aspects of non-financial risk (OR), including risk identification and assessment, control framework, risk appetite and scenario analysis.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Producing and coordinating key materials on behalf of and in conjunction with the Global Head of ORM for both senior internal and external stakeholders
- Working across 1LoD and 2LoD stakeholders to produce regulatory, Management Board and Supervisory Board appropriate updates on behalf of the Global Head of ORM
- Ensuring consistent messaging for all key initiatives across multiple senior internal and external senior stakeholders
- Supporting the Global Head of ORM in prioritising functional deliverables and tracking open actions and priorities
- Work effectively as required with the department's leadership team, including management of their regular meeting (agenda, actions etc.)
- Contribution to various ad-hoc initiatives and projects including cross-ORM or cross-Risk, as applicable. In addition, support the COO teams for both ORM and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) on ad hoc projects as required
Your Skills And Experience
- Educated to Degree-level or equivalent work experience
- Previous experience in risk management, ideally within investment banking
- Ability to work autonomously and deliver high quality senior management content and materials
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong influencing, relationship management and negotiation skills
- Highly organised, ability to multi-task and prioritise as required

You will have previous financial reporting / management accounting experience of delivering quality to deadline and want to continue to progress your accounting skills and knowledge. You will be a studier (AAT level 4 / ACCA / CIMA) or qualified by experience with advanced experience of Excel (xlookups, sumif formulas, etc). You'll enjoy working with stakeholders and consider yourself an effective verbal and written communicator who can work independently to improve their financial outlook. You'll be committed to continuous improvement and have many examples of where you have demonstrated your ability to innovate through being analytical and showing attention to detail.
