On offer is the opportunity to join a pioneer in the building materials industry, this innovative start-up have developed two low-carbon materials used within the construction industry and they are looking to expand their team and production to break further into the market. The company are on a huge upwards trajectory with increased funding meaning they will be looking to upscale their production and premises in 2026.

On a daily basis, you will be responsible for optimising the existing manufacturing processes, implementing new procedures using Lean and Six Sigma, supervise production activities and support day-to-day operations. You will work alongside R & D, Technical and Operations to lead the Manufacturing operation into the next phase of their start-up venture.

This role would suit a Manufacturing or Production Engineer or similar looking to join a rapidly expanding, forward thinking company, who's goal is to impact the construction industry by producing sustainable products as well as being given the opportunity to progress your career in the long term.

The Role:

• Identify and Implement Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Develop SOPs to ensure consistency and repeatability

What the job involves

As Manufacturing Engineer, you will help turn design concepts into tangible products. Responsibilities include:

• Developing prototypes, test rigs, tooling and jigs, and supporting New Product Introduction (NPI).
• Partnering with design and procurement to ensure a Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DFM/DFA) approach, approving CAD and drawings where appropriate.
• Shaping manufacturing strategies, optimising assembly processes, and driving lean improvements.
• Leading PFMEA activities to identify risks and establish controls before manufacture.
• Working with procurement and suppliers to assess, select and improve quality, cost, and manufacturability.
• Investigating non-conforming material or products from the supply chain where required.
• Establishing practices to ensure control and traceability of manufacturing data.
• Supporting compliance and validation work.

Must-haves:

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing engineering or NPI.
• Hands-on expertise with mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Strong knowledge of DFM/DFA, lean tools, and quality systems (FMEA, SPC, 8D).
• Knowledge of multiple manufacturing and assembly processes, with a good understanding of GF&T requirements for assemblies.

Nice-to-haves:

• Proficiency in CAD interrogation and reading engineering drawings, with experience approving drawings for release.
• A proactive, quality-focused problem-solver who collaborates well and drives results.
• Adaptability to changing work environments and new challenges.
