THE ROLE:
Reporting into the Finance Director, this role will include preparation of the monthly management accounts, P & L, fixed assets and balance sheet reporting, variance analysis, profitability analysis, assess potential cost reductions and BOMS.
This is a hands on, challenging position requiring the ability to liaise effectively right across a business.
THE CANDIDATE:
Ideally you are a qualified/part qualified accountant with a good management accounting background and preferably with experience of the manufacturing sector.
You have first class analytical, investigative, interpersonal and communication skills combined with great attention to detail and really enjoy working as part of a friendly team.
The company will provide financial assistance to finish professional exams for a part qualified accountant with the relevant background and experience required.
A sound understanding of ERP systems will be beneficial.

About the company:
We are supporting an international manufacturing group in the worldwide aerospace, & defence, land vehicle and power & energy markets.
The Purpose of Role:
Responsible for implementation of production processes and procedures, leading productivity improvements with project-based activities, including new product introduction, production planning and manufacturing cell design to reduce waste, improve quality and safety, and reduce operating costs. Manage KPIs and ensure preventative actions are taken to maximise success. Work on many phases of projects of moderate complexity, with results impacting on project completion.
Key Duties:
- Identify manufacturing needs for new products in development.
- Design new systems and processes and provide facilities & methods to ensure the cost effective integration of new products or for the improvement of existing ones into manufacturing operations.
- Ensure all product and system requirements are considered from pre-production to PPAP.
- Assist with shop floor layout and cell designs using lean manufacturing principles.
- Support in designing fixtures and tooling for manufacturing.
- Generating production documentation such as control plans, SOP, TPMs.
- Desirable to interpret, understand and communicate engineering drawings, GD&T, key specifications, etc.
- Ensure product and process quality meets customer specifications.
- Support purchasing and engineering team in design & development of production equipment’s to ensure the best quality for best price and system robustness.
- Oversee installation of machinery and equipment.
Requirements:
- Ideally hold an Engineering related qualification (BEng, HND, HNC etc).
- Minimum 5-years’ experience within manufacturing/ shop floor engineering role.
- Experience of/ or qualified in Lean Manufacturing techniques.
- Expertise in Health and Safety practices.
- Understanding manufacturing processes.
- Understanding engineering, scientific and other technical information.

Education/Qualifications:

A leading food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Site Technical Manager to lead the technical function at a fast-paced, high-care, high-risk production facility. This is a senior leadership role within the site’s SLT (Senior Leadership Team), responsible for food safety, quality compliance, hygiene, and audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the site technical function, ensuring full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
- Deliver key site KPIs and uphold technical and food safety standards.
- Oversee hygiene and process teams, including reviews and structural improvements.
- Actively contribute to site strategy and continuous improvement as part of the SLT.
- Lead customer and third-party audits with confidence.
- Maintain BRC standards and manage compliance with UK retailer expectations—ideally with experience of M&S or strong exposure to Tesco or Sainsbury’s.
About You:
- Senior-level experience in technical roles within high-care food manufacturing (e.g. ingredients, dairy, chilled foods).
- Proven leadership of multi-functional technical teams
- In-depth knowledge of BRC standards and experience with UK retailer audits – M&S preferred
- Strong communicator with a proactive, improvement-focused mindset.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- HACCP Level 4 and Food Safety Level 4.
- CIP (Clean-in-Place) Level 4 certificate – Campden or Persia systems strongly preferred.
- Strong experience with BRC and UK retailer standards (M&S, Tesco, Sainsbury’s).
- Demonstrated capability in managing hygiene and process functions.
- Lead Auditor qualification desirable
