What are we looking for in our next Manufacturing Engineer?
- Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering or technical supply chain role, ideally within defence, maritime, or other high-integrity engineering sectors.
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
- Strong knowledge of complex manufacturing processes such as machining, fabricated assemblies, PCBAs, welding, coatings, NDT, or composites.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, GD&T, material specifications, and quality/process standards.
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across customer and supplier networks.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and modern supply chain practices.

Salary: £37,935 per annum + 25% shift allowance (£47,418) + overtime
Location: Radway Green
We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as a Manufacturing Technician. The role will be based at Radway Green just outside of Crewe and will require the successful candidate to be on site full time working a varied shift pattern (please see details below).
The company works at the cutting edge of technology, creating more than 100 new inventions every year for customers in over 100 countries.
You will be joining the Manufacturing team who operate on a 3 shift rotating system, working 37 hours per week. The 3 shifts are as follows:
- Monday- Thurs: 8 hours per shift
- Fridays: 5 hours per shift
Overtime is also available at a 25% enhancement rate during the week and a 60% enhancement rate at the weekend.
This post would suit someone with either High Volume precision skills or a Tool change/ Machine Setup background who can work with smaller equipment machines due to the fine adjustments and setups needed.
Candidates with tool setting or tool change experience who can setup and tune a machine, have skills on fine tuning but also running machinery is highly advantageous for this role.
If you have had a previous role as one of the following roles then we would like to hear from you: Machine Setup Technician, Die Setter, Inspection Setup Technician, Tool Setter/ Toolroom Technician, or previous precision manufacturing experience.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensuring processes are maintained and operated in a safe manner and escalate issues affecting safety within the given production area
- Ensuring that work undertaken adheres to relevant quality standards and provides support in the implementation of quality improvement projects
- Operating of manufacturing processes and facilities to meet production programme requirements

Our client is a leading aircraft manufacturing company who have an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the A350 Manufacturing Engineering team at Broughton. As a member of the lineside support team, you will be supporting the fast-paced production line, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives, problem solve and support cycle time & efficiency projects.
This is a contract position lasting until October 2026 offering both PAYE and Umbrella rates. Working hours are Double Day Shift Pattern (20% uplift on rate)
- Alternating weeks of morning and afternoon Monday to Friday
- Mornings - 6:00am - 1:10pm
- Afternoons - 1:30pm - 8:40pm
The main mission:
- Identify, analyse & solve recurrent technical issues not directly manageable by the operators & FLM (First Line Manager).
- Provide a view at shop floor level within the production team.
- Accompany to production team.
- Achieve optimum of effort and work results through planning, production control and management of products and the design of processes.
- Achieve the expected Industrial Excellence targets within area by ensuring adherence and continuous improvement of operational process.
The main activities:
- Daily / on shift line side support to manage technical issues & continuous improvement: missing parts, non-conformities, concessions if applicable, outstanding work, maintenance, jigs & tools.
- Perform work order management for out of cycle work.
- Escalate recurrent issues & request support to the Work Prep, Maintenance, MAP & Outstanding Work support functions roles, if not manageable at level1.
- Support capacity management: anticipate capacity fluctuation to cover changes in the PLC (product life cycle situation) and grow competence.
Requirements:
- Desirable NVQ L4 / HNC or equivalent
- Background in Manufacturing Engineering
- Previous experience in a technical role using CATIA & SAP would be an advantage
