THE ROLE
You will be operating specialist machinery and some of your tasks will include:
- Learning how to operate specialist production-based machinery
- Monitoring and documenting quality
- Loading and loading materials
- Learning how to set and operate machinery
- Adhering to clearly laid out guidelines and following standard operating procedures

Overview:
We now require an additional Manufacturing Engineer to join the team due to expansion. The company have sites across the UK and EU and manufacture components for some well-known names within industry. This role will require an understanding of to how components are made out of metal - techniques such as machining, fabrication, anodising and metal manipulation. You will create manufacturing route cards (SOP's and methods to manufacture) to ensure the best methods to manufacture whilst continually looking at improvements.
The ideal candidate/ Manufacturing Engineer may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
- Previous experience writing SOP's, methods of manufacture
- Knowledge of machining and fabrication of metal components
- Excellent inter-personal and presentation skills
- Ability to read manufacturing drawings and specifications and break out the details and processes required for each operation required for manufacture.
- Competence in Office particularly Excel, Word and Project.
- Previous experience working in a role where streamlining and improving processes is key aspect of the your role.
Commutable from Stanley, Consett, Durham, Newcastle, Sunderland and surrounding areas.

We are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Operative to work within an established business in Birtley.
The role involves:
- Preparing the materials required for production
- Following SOPs, ensuring the correct quantities of product are used for the production of each product
- Machine operating
- Quality control and attention to detail
- Working to daily targets
This does require manually lifting the materials so applicants must be physically fit.
The role will involve working on a three shift pattern 6.00am-2.00pm, Monday to Friday 2.00pm-10.00pm Monday to Friday and 10.00pm-6.00am Sunday to Thursday. You will also be required to work Saturday when you are on the 6.00am-2.00pm shift. (One in every 3 weeks)
Essential Experience:
- Working in a manufacturing facility

Desired Experience:
- Previous use of a Fork Lift truck is highly advantageous

**What You Will Do:**
+ Assignments include leading development of modern automated tool design, assembly, manufacturing processing, cost estimating, systems planning, layout, standards, releasing, etc. and requires the coordination of many disciplines.
+ Leads New Product/Process Introduction Programs (following Advanced Product Quality Planning), championing design for manufacture and utilising Virtual Product & Process Design, Development & Validation Processes and latest immersive CAVE Technology & Plant Simulation Tools.
+ Support the provision of new (or upgrade of) tooling, machines and equipment.
+ Coordinate acquisition and installation of new machines and equipment and process changes to provide most efficient and economical manufacture or assembly of quality parts.
+ Leading, developing and supporting Operation Excellence Lean Manufacturing ensuring optimum utilisation of equipment and space by coordinating the layout of areas such as production flow lines, product movement, material storage, assembly and test equipment to accommodate the changing production requirements.
+ Coordinates release dates and availability of new machines and equipment and material to maintain schedules and satisfy demand.

+ Technical or university degree in an appropriate manufacturing engineering related field (or equivalent)

The Job you will do:
- Prioritise Health & Safety, working within safe systems of work
