Production Operatives
Pentwyn | 12.21 - 12.34 per hour | Monday to Thursday | 38.45 hours a week |
Acorn is seeking Production Operatives to join their well-established client based in Pentwyn.
Your role will be to assist in all aspects of the manufacturing process, utilising relevant equipment and machinery used in the making of HAD products. This role offers a variation in responsibilities and the opportunity to learn a broad range of new skills in a fast-paced environment.
Details:
- Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm.
- Friday 7.30am to 12.15pm.
- 12.21 per hour for the first 12 weeks.
- 12.34 per hour from 13 weeks onwards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks to given instruction to achieve quantity and quality targets.
- Responsible for the product quality and output of their operation or process.
- Report problems with material or equipment to Process Controllers.
- Carry out monthly stock check of materials in your area.
- Keep working area clean and tidy, in line with 5S.
- Undertake any duties requested by your Process Controllers or Team Leaders.
- Observe all instructions ensuring personal Health and Safety and that of others.
- Report any potential safety hazards to the Process Controller.
- Undergo training and development to increase flexibility in task performance throughout the Company.
- Follow procedures laid down by ISO9002 to maintain quality standards.
- Work as part of a team to drive efficiency and standards.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
- 1-2 years experience within a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Able to demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and attention to detail.
- Must possess good communication skills.
- Awareness of quality standards.
- NVQ Level 1-2 in Process Operations would be beneficial.
- This role will involve an element of manual labour.

On offer is the opportunity to join a leading medical equipment manufacturer and supplier, who are undertaking a massive period of growth having recently acquired another business. The company provide medical mobility equipment for both domestic and commercial clients, these include stairlifts, hoists, slings and other crucial devices. Due to the nature of the business, taking care of their employees and nurturing their development is the key to their growth and long term business strategy.
This varied and autonomous role, you will be responsible for developing and optimising assembly processes, identification and implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives, spotting assembly line issues, collaboration with Quality and R & D teams and analysing data to drive continuous improvement strategies. This is a Monday to Thursday 8AM-4:30PM shift, with a 1:30PM finish on a Friday.
