We’re looking for a keen, creative, and energetic Editorial Assistant to join our growing content team. This is an ideal opportunity for a new graduate or aspiring journalist looking to start their career in media, publishing or advertising. You’ll gain valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced editorial environment, supporting the day-to-day operations of Rock My Wedding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out general administrative duties and providing day-to-day administrative support to the Editorial Director, including diary management, inbox organisation, and meeting coordination.
- Assisting the editorial team with content across the website, newsletters, and social media platforms.
- Conducting research into industry trends, wedding inspiration, and competitor activity to assist with content planning.
- Assisting with team brainstorms and offering input on fresh, creative content ideas when required.
- Writing and uploading articles to the CMS when required, as well as carrying out image research and basic resizing to support content creation.
- Assisting with the organisation and logistics of Rock My Wedding events.
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience:

**The Job Profile**
Simon & Schuster Adult Non-Fiction is looking for an Editorial Assistant to work in their quality commercial non-fiction team.
Reporting to the Deputy Publishing Director, Non-Fiction and supporting the S&S Gallery, Non-Fiction, editorial team, this is an exciting role for someone who loves pop culture and wants to work with books and authors who will reach a wide audience.
**The Job Role**
Administrative responsibilities will include generating and maintaining editorial data on internal systems, liaising with copyeditors, proof-readers, freelancers, typesetters and authors, running reports (TCM, TMM, etc), developing and maintaining content on the databases, be a key point of contact between Editorial teams, processing and managing relevant payments, submitting prize entries and other general administration
Editorial responsibilities will include assisting with writing jacket copies and briefing jackets, creating, updating and checking Advance Information Sheets, preparing prelims, end-matter and corrections for paperbacks, reprints, and new editions, collating proof-readers' and authors' proof corrections when required, general editorial research, liaising with Rights, Marketing and Sales on catalogues, reading and reporting on submissions and regularly communicating with authors and their agents; contributing ideas for backlist reinvigoration and monitoring titles online and updating metadata.
**The Candidate Profile**
The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, be able to take their own initiative and will thrive in a busy and varied role. They will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with an exceptional grasp of spelling and grammar, and a meticulous eye for detail. They'll be a keen team player with an ability to interact at all levels, who can understand and respond to team needs, shifting priorities, and work collaboratively to meet deadlines. This role doesn't require prior publishing experience, but someone who has an interest in non-fiction, awareness of the commercial non-fiction market and the ability to read broadly is essential. Awareness of or interest in the publishing landscape would be welcomed with an eagerness to learn and be excited to take the first step in their publishing career

What you'll be doing.
- Report into the Managing Editor, and working closely with the Deputy Editor, you will complete weekly and daily tasks to update and strengthen existing SEO and top-performing content.
- Collaborate with the social and ecommerce teams to support any additional content refreshes that are required for distribution.
- Produce new and data-responsive content for editorial and commercial as and when required.
- Support the Fashion Editor on sample call-ins, returns and shoot day assistance.
- Assist the editorial team on fashion month scheduling and press-day calendar planning.

- Experience in producing content whether through own channels or academic studies. Relevant knowledge of fashion and beauty is preferred.

The Content Editor, Newsletters position is an exciting new role that will be responsible for all the email newsletter output across Homes & Gardens and Livingetc, creating brilliant products that deliver traffic to the websites and also engage the audience on platform. Conduit is our Scottish Secondary brand, launched in August 2022. We began with a small team of English teachers to develop teaching and learning resources as well as materials to support skills development to help bridge the gap between the BGE and Senior Phase. We now work on additional subject areas too, with more coming online soon. The Conduit team has become so successful that we are ready to grow and develop our Secondary offering further. We are seeking candidates for multiple subjects to write and edit BGE and Senior Phase content for Scottish Secondary teachers and students.

How you will spend your week:
- Meeting with other Twinkl writers and editors, the Conduit Product Owner and Secondary Segment Manager to discuss new ideas;
- Writing and editing CfE content for the Scottish Secondary market;
- Identifying and developing new project ideas within your chosen subject and wider Conduit Team;
- You may also do some editing work for other subject areas across the Conduit Team;
In this role, you will learn :
- How to create and edit new teacher content for our Scottish team, from ideation stage to publication on the site;
- Remote collaboration, working closely with writers and editors across the country;
- How to develop greater commercial awareness so we can understand the needs of those we want to help.
Requirements
To succeed in the role, you will:
- Be a fantastic communicator who thrives when working in a close-knit team;
- Be focused on collaboration, using feedback to make our resources the best they can be;
- Have detailed knowledge of your chosen subject within the Curriculum for Excellence;
- Be confident at creating resources for the Senior Phase, as well as the BGE;
