MARKET INSIGHTS LEAD – MEDTECH
UP TO £65,000
LONDON – 3 DAYS PER WEEK IN OFFICE
COMPANY
This specialist organisation operates across three connected areas: publishing, insights, and conferences. Collectively, they provide news, education, consulting, and events within the MedTech sector, covering areas such as vascular, cardio, spinal, and neuro.
The insights arm functions like a boutique agency within the wider group — with unique access to a large network of physicians, enabling high-value market research and analysis for MedTech professionals and organisations. Their work spans market trackers, quantitative studies, and qualitative recruitment, making them a go-to partner for data-driven intelligence in the medical devices space.
With new leadership driving closer collaboration across the group, this is a period of growth and innovation.
THE ROLE
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll oversee the insights function, manage a small team, and directly shape the delivery and expansion of research services. Unlike some senior positions that are purely strategic, this role blends leadership with execution — giving you both influence and freedom to shape how the function grows.
You’ll split your time between:
- 20% management – leading a small team and freelancers
- 50% hands-on research – designing, running, and delivering projects
- 30% strategy & business development – driving innovation, improving client services, and expanding offerings
You’ll be instrumental in:
- Overseeing the department’s direction and shaping strategic growth
- Managing and evolving existing core research products (trackers, bespoke studies)
- Identifying new opportunities and leading strategies to deliver them
- Building strong client relationships and aligning projects with business objectives
- Designing and implementing both quant and qual research plans, including:
- Questionnaire design and client liaison
- Recruitment, sampling, and fieldwork management
- Data analysis, reporting, and actionable recommendations
- Guiding and mentoring junior researchers, ensuring high-quality delivery
SKILLS
- Experience in market research, in MedTech, healthcare, life sciences, or pharma
- Proven track record in quantitative research , with qualitative exposure a plus
- Background in market insights, strategy, or competitive intelligence
- Line management or mentoring experience strongly preferred
- Strong client-facing skills — confident communicator and relationship builder
- Familiarity with tools such as Qualtrics, Excel, SPSS, or Power BI
WHY APPLY?
- Opportunity to lead and grow a high-potential insights function in the MedTech space
- Blend of hands-on research, strategy, and leadership — true influence without losing execution
- Access to a unique physician network through publishing and conferences
- Work closely with senior leadership, shaping how insights fuel wider business growth
- Freedom to develop new products and expand offerings in a growing market
