We're looking for someone to lead the commercial engine behind Future's subscription growth.

The Growth Marketing Director is a senior hire who will run two cross-functional squads, oversee our digital performance marketing strategy, and build the systems that allow us to scale subscriber acquisition efficiently across our portfolio.

You will build on real momentum: strong brands, a scaled subscriber base, and meaningful investment already in place. The brief now is to sharpen, accelerate, and scale what works—commercially and operationally. Our brands are strong, our subscriber base is large, and the leadership support is in place. What we need now is a strategic operator who can bring sharper structure, better attribution, faster testing cycles, and stronger economics to how we grow.

This is one of the most commercially impactful roles in the business. The Growth Director will operate with broad influence—across brand, product, editorial, data, and finance—and will be trusted to lead the system that drives acquisition performance, not just the campaigns.

What you'll be doing

Subscriptions are a top-three strategic priority for Future. We're shifting from fragmented acquisition efforts to a unified, centre-led growth model: a repeatable system built on test-and-learn rigour, full-funnel optimisation, and measurable ROI.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Subscriptions, the Growth Director will;

  • Lead performance marketing across UK and US markets
  • Responsible for both Tier 1 brand acquisition and digital growth for Tier 2/3 brands
  • Be the growth marketing center of excellence—providing the infrastructure, playbooks, and insight to help brand teams scale acquisition, inprove customer journeys, and embed test-and-learn rigour
  • Drive CAC:LTV outcomes across the portfolio and report on revenue contribution, growth pacing, and forecast accuracy

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve

Must-Have Experience

  • Senior digital growth/performance marketing leader in a scaled DTC, media, or subscription-led business
  • Ownership of large budgets (£5m+ annually) and clear track record improving CAC:LTV
  • Demonstrable experience leading cross-functional growth teams and working across data, creative, lifecycle, and product
  • Familiar with marketing attribution, CRM journeys, CRO, and analytics tooling (e.g. GA4, Looker, CDPs)

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience managing agency relationships alongside in-house teams
  • Background in content, publishing, or brand portfolios
  • Exposure to US and UK consumer growth dynamics
  • Built or led a centre of excellence in marketing or growth

What's in it for you

This is a Hybrid role from our Bath or London Office, working three days from the office, two from home

… Plus more great perks, which include;

  • Uncapped leave, because we trust you to manage your workload and time
  • When we hit our targets, enjoy a share of our profits with a bonus
  • Refer a friend and get rewarded when they join Future
  • Wellbeing support with access to our Colleague Assistant Programmes
  • Opportunity to purchase shares in Future, with our Share Incentive Plan

Internal job family level P3

    • Speak up and lead with vision, bringing proactive ideas, strategic thinking, and a collaborative mindset to cross-functional planning and team meetings.
  • Campaign Strategy & Execution
    • Own and execute regional marketing programs, especially in areas without dedicated field marketing support. Activities include: hosted events and tradeshows, webinars and digital campaigns, content syndication.
    • Localise and activate central campaigns (e.g. paid media, webinars, content) for regional relevance in close collaboration with industry marketing.
    • Maximise event impact through strong pre-, during-, and post-event engagement plans that generate qualified leads and move opportunities forward.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with BDRs to ensure campaigns are activated effectively, with targeted outreach before and after events, and feedback loops to inform future efforts.
    • Work closely with our ABM marketer to tailor integrated campaigns for named accounts and support 1:1 ABM initiatives.
    • Collaborate with partner marketing to develop and execute joint field plans that support shared goals.
    • Align with regional sales teams through regular cadences and communication touchpoints to ensure visibility and alignment on marketing efforts.
    • Lead territory planning sessions with sales leadership to align marketing activities with priority segments, territories, and accounts.
  • Performance & Process
    • Track and measure all marketing programs, monitoring cost per activity, lead generation, and pipeline impact.
    • Manage the regional field marketing budget, ensuring accurate forecasting, cost control, and timely execution.

Job Description

contract
We’re looking for a sharp, business-savvy Legal Director (8-10 PQE) in marketing and advertising to take centre stage at one of the world’s biggest media and entertainment brands for 12 months (as a maternity cover). This is a rare opportunity to be embedded in the motion picture marketing machine behind some of the most talked-about film premieres and promotions in the world (their slate includes 6 of the 10 highest-grossing films of the past 5 years). This isn’t a back-office role. You’ll be right at the heart of the action, working with creatives, marketers, and publicity teams on everything from global premieres and red-carpet stunts to social influencer campaigns, sponsorships, live events, and brand collaborations. If you’re a commercial Lawyer who thrives in fast-paced environments, loves solving complex legal puzzles on the fly and wants to see your work play out on cinema screens, streaming platforms, and billboards across EMEA, this is your chance. The role: Acting as first legal point of contact for theatrical marketing, publicity, and promotions teams across EMEA. Advising on bold, multi-layered campaigns: influencer activations, native advertising, user-generated content, and real-time marketing. Safeguarding the brand while delivering commercial, solution-focused advice on everything from IP and compliance to publicity tours and stunts. Drafting and negotiating the full spectrum of marketing and events agreements: sponsorship, licensing, influencer, vendor, venue, digital platforms, contests, and more. Supporting high-profile premieres, screenings, and experiential events, ensuring they run safely and compliantly. Working with the music legal team on soundtrack use, data privacy teams on campaign compliance, and security teams on global publicity tours. Staying ahead of the curve from sweepstakes and prize rules across multiple jurisdictions to emerging issues like AI in supplier contracts. Managing know-how, templates and engaging with local counsel across EMEA. About you: 8-10 PQE qualified Lawyer, ideally with in-house experience at another major media & entertainment business. Expertise in marketing and advertising law, with deep knowledge of EMEA/EU regulations. Confidence in advising on high-stakes campaigns with multiple stakeholders under tight timelines. Sharp drafting and negotiation skills. The ability to balance risk with creativity. Familiarity with voluntary industry standards (DAA, MMA, etc.) is a plus. Available to start at the beginning of November 2025. Why join? Because you’ll be part of the team that brings movie magic to life across EMEA, from blockbuster premieres to award-season campaigns, your work will directly support the stories, characters, and cultural moments everyone is talking about. Hybrid working, competitive daily rate, and the chance to say: “I worked on that campaign” when the lights go down in the cinema. Apply today to find out more. As part of EJ Legal’s candidate registration and care process, all successful applications are responded to within 14 working days. If you have not been contacted within this timescale, your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. We may keep your details on our system on a confidential basis for future opportunities. If you would prefer us not to do this, please let us know.
