Capgemini Engineering is looking for a dynamic, team-focused High Performance Materials Engineer with a focus on composite materials to join the existing team. Your role will be to support operations of both industry leading and new emergent companies in the aerospace sector.

Your Role
Working directly on-site or remotely with the customer, you will take a key role in delivering Capgemini Engineering and customer projects. You will utilise engineering principals and knowledge to support a wider range of topics – with an emphasis on, but not limited to, carbon fibre primary structure applications in conjunction with aerospace metallic materials and manufacturing principals.

• Developing and providing materials design guidance from first principals, covering predominantly:
o Composite materials /Reinforced Plastic

o Aluminium – tempers/conditions, surface treatments, applications
o Titanium – surface treatments, applications
o Adhesive bonding
o Mechanical fastening
• Support material selection and certification activities.
o Defining, planning and executing test campaigns in support of the above.
o Create and maintain material compatibility and surface protection practices and manuals.
• Develop Material Specifications to ensure materials meet required performance, quality, and compliance standards for production.
• Manage and generate relevant documentation for the Technical Qualification of materials.
• Generate Manufacturing Engineering process instructions (Assembly principals, Sealant and anti-corrosion, Process validation)

Your skills and experience
Qualifications:
• Degree or equivalent experience in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or other relevant fields with specialization in composites.
Experience:
• Experience in aerospace engineering with a focus on composite materials is desirable.
• Experience in managing and generating documentation for material qualification and certification procedures.
• Experience in developing and implementing manufacturing process specifications and material specifications.
• High competence in at least one of the above technical areas, with demonstrable ability across the remaining areas desirable.

· You will be a part of Design and Applications Engineering, Value Engineering, and support Supplier Transition requirements, including serving as part of the investigation in concurrent Design: participate to defining manufacturing process approval requirements, product testing and design new material qualification for aerospace applications.
· Driving specification evolution from locally-owned process specifications towards global Honeywell standards and significant supplier technical support for components with special processes, conducting maintenance audits to ensure specification and process compliance, support determination of Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) associated with process or product escapes, and identification of manufacturability improvement opportunities and cost reduction.
· Significant stakeholder management and ownership of project milestones will be expected, including key customer relationship maintenance with Honeywell Engineering (Design, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering) and Supply Chain personnel (Sourcing / ISC), as well as the entire supply base.
A minimum of a Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemical Technology or similar.
· Experience in materials design/selection and working experience in a manufacturing environment
· Knowledge and particular interest in Elastomers/Rubbers.
· Experience working with specialist materials and products as this will be working on aerospace products with safety critical elements attached.

Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in a similar role on FEED & EPC projects for onshore brownfield oil & gas facilities, gas pipelines, and energy transition projects
- Extensive knowledge in materials and corrosion engineering
- Proficiency in preparing and reviewing materials and corrosion-related documentation
- Strong understanding of corrosion control and cathodic protection methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Capability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification

**Job Description**
As part of our Supplier Quality Assurance team, you will lead the Materials Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) team, focusing on auditing and qualifying raw material suppliers, especially those handling ultra-high tensile steel and titanium. This role requires a strong background in materials engineering and supply chain experience to support Safran globally in maintaining and improving supplier quality standards.

**Job Requirements**
What will I be doing?
- Leading and developing the materials SQA team to ensure supplier quality objectives are met.
- Auditing and qualifying raw material suppliers, forgers, and casting companies globally in line with Safran's requirements.
- Collaborating with the Materials and Process Laboratory and Material Validation Board to recommend and approve new materials and manufacturing processes.
- Managing a 3-year rolling audit plan to ensure all critical suppliers and material routes are regularly validated.
- Collecting and analyzing mechanical and chemical data from suppliers to monitor performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
What do I need to succeed in the role?
- A minimum of a degree or MSc in Materials Engineering or Materials Science.
- Industry experience working within a supply chain environment, specifically auditing and managing suppliers.
- Strong knowledge of raw materials, including ultra-high tensile steel and titanium manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with quality tools such as FMEA, 8D problem solving, statistical methods, and supplier training.
- Ability to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal teams, solve technical issues, and ensure compliance with Safran group standards.
