Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager to join our Team, and play a key role in the efficient and smooth operation of the practice. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and an understanding of team management. Experience in the dental field is required.
We have Practice Managers at the other practices, and so you will have a management team to work alongside with. You will also have support from the Group Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and inspire a team of dental professionals, administrative staff, and support personnel.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to ensure staff development and adherence to best practices.
- Undertake appropriate HR duties in respect of recruitment, induction, training, monitoring of CPD, appraisals.
- Manage rotas, performance issues, pay issues, grievance and disciplinary issues and dismissal.
- Build a productive relationship with the clinicians, supporting them to achieve their contractual and clinical goals.
Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the dental practice.
- Implement and optimise administrative processes to enhance efficiency.
- Managing appointment booking systems and optimising the appointment diary to minimise downtime.
- Reducing cancellations and no-shows through proper communication and reminders.
- Managing the practice management software (SOE EXACT).
- Troubleshooting and liaising with IT support as needed.
Financial Management:
- Overseeing budgets, payroll, invoicing, and expense control.
- Tracking practice profitability and reporting to owners.
- Grow practice revenues, and understand how to generate income and control costs.
- Preparing performance reports and data analysis (e.g., patient flow, revenue).
- Contributing to strategic planning and long-term goals.
Patient Relations:
- Ensuring patients have a positive experience from first contact to follow-up.
- Managing complaints and feedback to improve service.
Compliance and Regulations:
- Ensuring the practice complies with health and safety, GDPR, and infection control protocols.
- Staying updated with CQC, GDC, and other relevant regulations.
Requirements:
- Experience in dentistry required.

To work in conjunction with clinical and professional colleagues to ensure that the productivity of staff within the Community Dental Service is maintained and their job satisfaction is enhanced. This may include involvement in the appraisal process of colleagues.
