Network Strategy & Development
- Drive AWS's European backbone network infrastructure strategy and execution
- Design and implement large-scale network architecture supporting Amazon's global operations

Basic Qualifications

Key job responsibilities
A SysDE is responsible for maintaining and improving their team's services end-to-end, requiring them to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues that arise within their systems. They will design and implement testing, monitoring, and validation improvements across services, tools, and infrastructure to ensure their teams can continuously deploy new versions with minimal interruption. A SysDE will proactively identify areas to invent, refine, and develop automation and tools to reduce manual operations across teams, making pragmatic trade-offs to fulfill both current and future requirements of the business and their customers.

Basic Qualifications
- Relevant experience in software development, systems engineering, SRE or DevOps roles
- Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Practical understanding of network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP)
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (host networking, storage, *nix operating systems)
- Demonstrable experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, C++, C#, Java, Golang, Ruby
