What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience working with high-voltage electrical systems (up to 33kV or higher).
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution networks and safety protocols.
- Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent).
- High-voltage authorisation or the ability to obtain it quickly.
- A proactive approach to fault-finding and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to participate in out-of-hours call-outs or standby rotas.

As part of our essential front-line operations service, youll be joining a collaborative and dynamic team that is responsible for ensuring that our networks run as calmly and efficiently as possible. This is a pivotal role where you will help reduce the overall cost of water charges by accounting for all water consumed, as well as reducing water that is bought, but not sold, on site. This is achieved through using a range of leakage detection methods and to monitor, minimise and record water performance. You will use your industry experience to problem solve and identify areas for improvement across your region and work collaboratively with the wider business.
Candidates need to be based near Cirencester, Chippenham or Swindon to ensure easy access to our sites and reduce travel time. There will be times where additional travel will be needed across our large region which covers Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and the West Midlands.
What Youll Be Doing:
Accounting for 100% of water supply on to each of our sites and identifying leakage eventsnCarrying out reactive and proactive leak detection on MOD sites and monitor the leakage system and collecting datanRecording relevant site data and feeding this information back to the demand management teamnInstalling and maintaining flow and pressure data logging equipmentnEnsure that all relevant site data is captured through detailed on-site investigationsnEscalating areas of risk to the wider business such as water quality issues, supply risks or H&S concernsnWhat Youll Bring:
Knowledge of water supply configurations and hydraulics by using site plans and schematicsnKnowledge of specialist leakage detection equipment such as correlators, cat and genny, acoustic logging and ground-micsnExtensive technical expertise in all methods used to account for consumption and leakagenKnowledge of testing and inspecting fire hydrants and configuring pressure and flow loggers (training will be given)nGood problem-solving, communication and mobile device IT skillsnThe ability to build and develop strong relationships at all levels with both internal and external contactsnA good understanding of health and safety within an industrial settingnA commercial awareness to understand the cost impact on the business when making decisionsnYou will be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditionsnAbout you:nDue to the nature of sites on which we operate, the successful candidate must:
