About The Role

Network Operations & Intelligence (NOI) is responsible for running the Transmission Network Control Centre and planning the System Access (outages) that are a key requirement to enable Electricity Transmission (ET) to carry out all types of critical work to maintain safety and reliability.   • Portfolio Deliverability are responsible for looking at our portfolio risk, managing the outage change control process, governing our planning process, and delivering improvements where needed.
  • Business Performance set the annual contracts across NGET by agreeing targets with our executives and CEO team. Throughout the year they track key performance indicators and progress against milestones and critical outcomes to challenge the business and inform our executives.
  • Portfolio Change Control conduct detailed analyses on our asset portfolios so that we can accurately report on their status both internally and externally. They own and manage the change control process where we justify to our regulator, Ofgem, why we have made changes to our plan – for example choosing to replace an asset instead of refurbishment due to a catastrophic fault.

Your new role

- Proven expertise in ICT infrastructure support, including cloud, security, telephony, WAN/LAN, and remote access.

We are looking for a Network Engineer to join the team and help support the current infrastructure and assist in the delivery of our new network based on Juniper's IP-CLOS topology underpinned by Juniper Mist AI. Working with modern technology at an enterprise scale, this is a rare opportunity to learn and make a difference to the customers of the network

You must have the following to be considered for the role:

  • Experience of working with network equipment at the edge, distribution and core.
  • Associate Level certification or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of Network Access Control (NAC) products
  • Experience of working with enterprise Wi-Fi

In addition, you should be able to:

  • Demonstrate good working practices in a technical support environment.
  • Experience of working within IT Service Management frameworks such as ITIL

You will have :

  • Solid experience of working with enterprise networks
  • Associate Level certification or equivalent experience
  • Solid understanding of wireless networks and RF fundamentals
  • Able to work on-site
