This is a crucial role within the Teledyne-e2v RF Power Division, the role is to be part of the Equipment team to ensure that RF Power equipment is maintained and repaired to a high standard and quality to ensure safe operation and minimise production down time. This role will be responsible for supporting the RF power functions, production teams, engineering support providing independent assurance and governance.
Effective communication skills will be critical to the success of this role, with the ability to apply knowledge and skill to ensure equipment down time is kept to a minimum.
Our Equipment Engineers function with a proactive, self-motivated, boundary less approach and are prepared to challenge the norm. They have ability to work under pressure while ensuring high attention to detail and quality is maintained. Able to promote growth across the business, will enhance the reputation of the department through exceptional quality standards, behaviours and contribute towards significant reduction to equipment downtime and overall manufacturing costs.
**Position Summary and Responsibilities:**
We are seeking individuals who can maintain, fault find and rebuild a range of processing equipment including but not limited to oven, furnaces and pump station. Tasks can range from replacing failed heating elements to fault finding electrical control system and gas control cabinets.
+ Organisation and prioritisation of own workload.
+ Always use good health and safety practices
+ Carry out regular scheduled safety inspections and preventative maintenance tasks.
+ Carry out reactive breakdown maintenance.
+ Support the equipment build and calibration teams.
+ Identify opportunities for preventative maintenance on production equipment.
+ Assist in sourcing of spare parts for equipment and setting up spare part stocks.
+ Basic mechanical fabrication of components for equipment repairs.
+ Suggest and implement equipment improvements.
+ Assist production engineers with technical support regarding equipment.
+ Identify equipment requiring replacement and feedback to Line manager.
+ Reduce external service contracts
+ Assist with apprentice training.
+ A willingness to work overtime to support production output when necessary.
+ Provide regular progress updates to their Line Manager.
**Essentials:**
+ BTEC/NVQ 3 in an engineering discipline or able to demonstrate equivalent experience
+ Good communication skills
+ Able to demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and creativity.
+ Basic understanding of technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
+ Able to work within deadlines and budgets.
+ Electrical fault finding.
+ Understanding of temperature control systems.
+ Understanding of Single & Three phase.
+ Fault finding pneumatic, hydraulic and water-cooling systems.
**Desirables:**
+ Technical/engineering/craftsperson apprenticeship.
+ HNC in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
