PK Education is seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, and committed EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a warm and welcoming 1-form entry primary school near Normanton. This is a long-term, temporary placement with a start date from January.
About the Role:
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons to a diverse group of young learners. Your role will involve providing 1-1 support to several pupils with additional needs throughout the day, ensuring that they are fully included in all activities and learning opportunities.
This is a very hands-on, active role where you will need to have eyes in the back of your head! You will be expected to provide both academic and emotional support to help all pupils thrive in their learning environment. You will also be encouraged to bring your creativity and passion for early years education into the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1-1 support to EYFS pupils with additional needs, ensuring their individual learning and care needs are met.
- Assist with planning and delivering engaging, differentiated activities.
- Support children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development in a nurturing environment.
- Work closely with the class teacher to ensure smooth classroom management.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
- Support children’s independence and confidence as they progress through the EYFS curriculum.
- Safeguard the welfare of all pupils and adhere to school policies.

- Experienced in supporting EYFS pupils, particularly those with additional needs.
- Proactive, with the ability to take initiative and stay one step ahead in a busy classroom.
- Passionate about making a difference to the lives of young children and committed to helping every child succeed/
- Hands-on and adaptable, with the ability to support children with a wide range of needs and learning styles.
- A team player who can work well with staff, parents, and external professionals.
- A great communicator with a positive attitude and a strong understanding of safeguarding.
Qualifications:
- A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or a related field (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent)
- Experience working with EYFS pupils, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) .
- A sound knowledge of the EYFS framework and how to support early learning effectively.
