An opportunity has opened for a skilled Occupational Health Nurse to provide on-site support at a manufacturing site. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of clinical independence and collaborative impact, offering a regular and structured working day.
You will be responsible for conducting four management referral assessments per day, primarily addressing physical health concerns (approx. 65%) as well as psychological wellbeing and related issues.
Duties:
- Perform holistic health assessments covering physical, mental, cognitive (neurodiversity), and ergonomic factors.
- Offer specific, practical ergonomic guidance, including adjustments to workstations and assembly lines to aid injury prevention and facilitate return-to-work plans.
- Produce detailed clinical reports on the same day via a software.
- Participate in on-site activities with appropriate PPE, including safety footwear.
- Optional: Involvement in wider health surveillance services, such as:
- Hearing tests (audiometry)
- Lung function tests (spirometry)
- Hand-arm vibration screening (HAVS Tier 1 & 2)
- Dermatological checks
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Current NMC registration with a recognised qualification in Occupational Health Nursing.
- Minimum three years of post-registration experience in occupational health settings.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt to fast-paced industrial environments.
- Capable of working independently and using sound judgment in clinical decision-making.
- Must hold valid professional indemnity insurance.
- Due to limited transport access, having your own vehicle is strongly recommended.
