Your primary goal will be to ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation, and to foster a strong safety culture throughout the company. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of EHS regulations, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation techniques. You will conduct virtual site assessments, review safety reports, and provide expert guidance on best practices to operational teams. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as you will be liaising with management, employees, and external regulatory bodies. This role demands a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards, implementing preventative measures, and promoting a safe and healthy working environment. Responsibilities will include:
  • Developing and updating EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Conducting remote risk assessments and identifying potential hazards across various business operations.
  • Investigating incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Promoting a strong safety culture through training, awareness campaigns, and communication initiatives.
  • Providing expert advice and support to management and employees on all EHS matters.
  • Coordinating and overseeing EHS training programs for staff.
  • Monitoring EHS performance and preparing regular reports for senior management.
  • Liaising with external regulatory bodies and ensuring timely response to audits and inspections.
  • Developing and implementing emergency preparedness and response plans.
  • Staying current with all relevant EHS legislation and industry best practices.

Qualifications include a relevant degree in Environmental Health, Safety Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. A recognised EHS qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma) is highly desirable. Proven experience in developing and implementing EHS management systems, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and exceptional written and verbal communication abilities are essential. Experience conducting virtual inspections and audits is a significant advantage. The ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities effectively is crucial for this remote role.
